  1. This response is for Christal’s dream,
    Christal
In your dream the context of the dream is togetherness or unity which is symbolized by the bbq. At first everyone is child-like which is the appropriate environment for a bbq. But then the innocence is broken by the snake. In this case the snake symbolizes poisonous jealousy like someone who has an agenda to destroy positive relationships and unity out of jealous feelings. The child is not aware of the danger so the child is easily poisoned by surprise. Then you go into an emergency mode.
The solution is to make yourself conscious (aware) of what brings about unity and what destroys it especially malicious gossip or back-stabbing. Then you can achieve what you set out to do which is really positive in nature to create togetherness.

  2. Hi Richard,
I dreamt 2 nights ago that I was in a large commercial office building and suddenly I had an excruciating pain in my lower right abdomen. I looked just under the waist of my pants and there had popped up 5 mushrooms – 3 were tiny ones the size of a pencil eraser, and square shaped, and 2 were larger, about 2 x 2 inches, but they were inverted like cups and without stems. I touched them expecting them to feel like mushrooms but it was my own skin. I felt frantic, disgusted and queasy, and wanted to hide this from others. I left the group in search of a bathroom to look at them in the mirror. When I did find a bathroom it was a huge bathroom with many stalls and big mirrors but it was pretty dark in there. When I looked at the 2 big ones again, (now this sounds really ridiculous, I know) there was a tiny king and queen statuette, sort of like magical/fairy tale gnomes, one in each. I remember thinking that they were symbolic, like a message maybe from whoever / whatever planted these mushrooms to grow from my body. I often have vivid dreams, but this one makes me feel queasy and as if something is wrong. I would so appreciate some insight so I can start to heal the underlying issue here.

  3. Hi Richard,
In my dream, I was on the side of a large stage, and the seats in the auditorium were split in half. On one half was people in gray vests, and on the other half were people in red vests. The leaders of the two “groups” (It was never clear of what they stood for and if it ever was I forgot when I woke up) were discussing their plans to go against each other in a sort of war. Suddenly, another person around my age stepped in and said they shouldn’t go to war. Then I asked them. “Is this war necessary?” And stepped out on the stage. I gave a speech about how everyone lived in the same world, so we should respect each other and love each other. Seemingly touched, then the leader of the grey vested people told his people to turn and hug the red vested people, and the other leader told the red vested people to do the same. The conflict was then avoided.

  4. In my dream I was attending a bbq with some friends when a huge snake came out of the woods. There were a bunch of children playing in the area it came from. 4 large bull frogs came into the dream before the snake and that what the children were playing with. The snake came out and instead of the children being afraid of the snake they were trying to play with it. The snake bit my youngest son. I grabbed my son and yelled for someone to call 911. He was beginning to lose consciousness. Then I woke up.

  5. John,
Walking along the waterfront, which a thing you would have done as a child, usually would mean a place you would go for a peaceful and tranquil walk. This means that your life would like to be able to return to that state. It doesn’t necessarily mean to that particularly place, but more the state of being when you were there.
The faceless man ready to club you is a symbol of how the culture takes you out your peaceful state. When you want to go to that state, your mind gets protective by remembering how the culture attacks you. Usually the negative culture man is a negative authority that tries to get you conform to what he wants for himself. He usually has no thoughts about you because he is just trying to fill his pockets with greedy ambition. Being in a state of peaceful thought is often seen as a threat.

The solution is to be aware of the cultural man before he comes so that you can take steps to be in the peaceful state without him being present. The goal is to get him out of your mind so that you are not thinking about him anymore.

  6. Dear Richard,

My name is John, I am 25 years old and have been experiencing the same reoccurring nightmare over the past few weeks, the fright has been enough to wake me on every occasion. The nightmare begins with me walking on the water front (a common place for me to be as a child), and a darkly dressed, faceless figure is following me and the more I try to walk faster to escape him, the closer he gets to me, and as I turn round to look he is right behind me and goes to strike me with an object but I wake up breathless before he contacts me. I would really appreciate if you could shed some light on this nightmare.

    Many Thanks,

    John.

  7. Kimberly, This is an example of an issue that is inherited and now is being passed down to your son. The dream of drawing or building is the capacity to create a vision of where you want to go in your life, but before you are a done an outside force stops the vision. What you can do is ask yourself the following question. Who in your past stopped the creative visioning process in you? Seems to me that it was probably a male figure, but I can’t tell from the dream. It is either your father or mother most likely.

What you need to do is to let go of the fear they created in you and start the creativity process fully. Your son is picking up on your energy and feeling the same thing.

You have a great new life to build. Go for it.

  8. This is for Dave’s dream,
The really interesting thing about this dream is that when your village is being blown up, the person you think about the most and try to communicate with is your ex-girl friend. You are trying to make sure she gets out safely. This means that in your inner self, despite the relationship being “blown up” or however it ended, you are still in a relationship with her. This is because she has something inside of her that is important for your learning. It could be a quality or a capacity. When you find out what it is and go for it, then you can start a new life which will be amazing.

The village or old self being blown up is something that you can just let go of so that you can start fresh with a new self and a new life. You can look forward to your really positive new self.

  9. Hi! throughout my life I have had a recurring dream where I am drawing a picture of a boat but right at the time I am almost finished a hand appears and erases or the hand has a pencil and scribbles all over the picture. In the dream I continue to start over and draw the same boat and everytime the picture is destroyed. This continues until I finally wake up or someone wakes me up from this nightmare. I always wondered what it meant but now I am very interested in knowing the meaning since last night my 7 year old son was having a nightmare and when I asked him about it he said Mommy I was trying to build with lego and a hand kept coming and smashing what he build so he could never finish. I remembered my dream that was recurring throughout my and wondered what they mean and if they are connected in someway?

  10. I was dreaming about my home village, most of the houses were being blown up I think by bombs, and my ex girlfriend was living in an old friends house in an area in the village not being blown up, I was trying to call her to warn her about what was going on, but I could not get a reception on her mobile so she gave me a landline number, but i misdialed and got someone else. I began to climb over all the rubble and destroyed houses to try to get to her house to warn her not to go outside because I knew she was about to leave for work. There were 2 ways out of the village, I was telling her to go ‘straight on’ as turning left out of her house would have lead to the area being destroyed.

  11. Claire, In this dream you are so trying to look good because you see your sister and probably everyone else as perfect. When you see others as perfect and yourself as much less, then the make up runs because you feel inside that you are not as good as them.

The thing that will really help but will be a huge task is to STOP comparing yourself to others. You can believe that God created you with huge beauty inside, full of amazing potentialities. You are an amazing person. When you believe how wonderful and beautiful you are, everyone will see you as beautiful and the world will open to you in a positive way.

  12. Putting makeup on with my sister, her make up is perfect, when I put black mascara on it runs all over my face, each time I try to do this it just looks an ugly mess, covering my face in rivulets of black, I get more and more upset……that’s all I can remember…..

  13. Cat,
When you are dreaming from a position of watching rather than participating or even seeing yourself, it is teaching you how to observe or see things clearly and objectively before you decide to intervene. It is a form of detachment which is what you need to have in so many situations in life where you are counseling others or trying to make decisions.

In this dream a couple is thirsty which from a metaphoric point of view could mean like thirsty for change, but when they think they have change, it turns out to be more dryness.

The problem that they have is that they are on a long journey where it is rocky and dry. There solution in their real lives is the opposite which is start their journey in an area where there is a lot of water which is a symbol for a lot of positive relationship like a lot of love. Then when they travel they bring the love, the water with them and fill those areas with love (water)

Many people journey in their lives without taking along enough love with them so they end up with no love even more. They need to start where there is a lot of love already and then they can always stay full of love as they travel out.

    Does this make sense?

  14. Hi Richard,
Last night I dreamt as if I was watching a play from a distance. The dream was about a couple, a man and a woman. The woman spoke some sort of foreign language but the man was English. They were travelling on a long journey but I don’t know where they were going. They were walking through really dry, rocky landscape and couldn’t find any water to drink. When they did eventually reach a pool of water however many times they tried to fill it up all they got were small stones. I’m really confused about this dream as I’ve never dreamt about anyone else before where I’m not included as a character.
    Thanks, Cat

  15. The metaphor of grooming means the things you do to get yourself ready to use your positive powers in a beneficial way out in the world. Hair is usually a symbol of positive power. Grooming the hair means getting it ready. Hence getting your positive power ready. Since you let go of smoking and now you have more internal space, now you are readying yourself for really doing positive things. All of the things you are doing are really great.

  16. Thank You Richard, I am doing more typing end reading books and pending more time on looking better, doing my make up nice and natural every morning where I used to just let it slide. I buy more expensive perfume. I enjoy having more free time. smoking really wasted alot of my time.

    last nights dream:

I was combing twins hair. the girls hair were bleach blond like white completely white. and long. but the roots were a little reddish/purplish. I was just combing and combing for what seemed for hours.

  17. Jane,
One of the things that happens when you smoke is that in the process of taking in the smoke, you actually are breathing and relaxing because of the nicotine. Smoking is an attempt really to get your own breathing space. It is like your inner self wants its own space to move freely in.

The moves you are making are all very positive and what your inner self wants for you, but the old pattern is still partially hanging around. Smoking is how you coped before. Now you can enter your own space and be free in there by letting go of all of the ways others used to control your inner space.

In the end it will leave you with a lot more creativity and freedom.

  18. Richard, Thank you for your reply.

I’m not doing anything negative at this stage, I actually stopped smoking a week ago and I am putting more into my work, my relationship and my parenthood actually. I am at all cost trying to be the best me. most of what’s going on around me is gossiping etc, I don’t bother to even listen to it. The smoking have prevented me from many things and it took my confidence and feminism away from me. I feel more confident and alive now that I ever have. dream is pretty strange to me.

  19. Hi Jane,
The problem you face in the dream is really about doing things that you are asked to do when you really don’t want to do them because of how vulgar they are.
The solution for you is to begin doing things for yourself that you decide that are positive for you and make you like a whole being.

The TV part shows that people will make up all kinds of stories, mostly lies, to get people to do their negative business as if it is appropriate. You can learn how to be aware of it and question it.

The first step is to find things that make you feel really great when you are doing them that are also positive for your whole self. Then you will be able to say no to the others.

  20. Good day Richard. My name is Jane. I had the dream about the snake around my neck the other time. So I try to block out my dreams mostly because it never feels like I’m actually getting any rest.
2 nights ago I had this dream.
I was sent to check on ‘pieces’ and ‘parts’ of a girl in a bath. I was instructed to make sure that her parts and all were preserved (not rotting). Anyway so I did check on the parts, only vaguely though because I found it vulgar.
I said to the person that everything seemed fine. Then I switched on the tv and saw this girl in a clip, The clip was about a presumed kidnapping while she waited under a tree for her ride home. The image of the girl under the tree was mostly foggy and dark not that dark but like early dawn. The clip then went on showing how she was a ball of slime, then turned in to a see-through jelly fish, then a whale. The fact that I was checking on her ‘parts’ and knowing that she was kidnapped made it seem really weird, I didn’t understand what I was watching. The dream ended with it all being a mistaken kidnapping and she under the tree praying.
