  1. Hi, I don’t know if this site is still running. But I hope you can help me find out what these dreams mean. Ok, one of the dreams start with me in like a hut with a fire pit in the middle. I am alone in the hut. I feel a draft so I cozy up next to the fire, but the fire feels cold. Like have you ever touched somthing so cold it felt hot? It was like that. Then I pull my hand away, but suddenly a hand made of fire pulls my hand back toward it violently and I see a face in the flames is not anyone I know and it looks like it’s taking, but only in a low whisper I can’t understand. I begin to wake up and feel someone by the side of my bed. I don’t know if I was awake or still dreaming but I swear I saw someone by the side of my bed, in a long like hood thing on its head and glasses chanting somthing in a language I don’t know. Ok so that was the first of many. I’m not going to write the rest of them but the latest one I had with the dream chanter with the hood on its head went like this : I was in a big city, and there was fog or pollution in the air. Everyone walking around was wearing masks. It was very quiet except for the sound of someone chanting that chant I’ve heard from the dream chanter guy but it is very far away. I decide to look around, I think I’m looking for someone, maybe the dream chanter? I’m not sure I just feel uneasy. Anyway I don’t really remember much until one part of the dream where I went inside a building and it looked like everything was made of Chrystal or glass, very shiny and very different from outside. No people but I hear like a high pitched *ping, ping* sound. I see some stairs and I begin running up them I don’t hear the chanting anymore just the ping sound getting louder. There are big double doors at the top of these steps and it leads to the roof. I am way up high looking down at the edge at the streets that are empty. Through the pollution or fog I see a beam of light coming from the sky which is like a dark red and orange. I squint. I look up still at the edge of the roof and suddenly someone I don’t see pushes me from behind and I’m falling fast down the side of this tall building. I then woke up half awake half asleep to see that hooded figure chanting again, only this time I reached for their face and grabbed their glasses off their face and said *your scaring me *. The figure gasps and I wake up fully and I flipped on the light and looked for the glasses that I still felt in my hand but I didn’t see anything. I have seen this dream person a lot in my life but that was the first time I ever felt anything physical after waking. Is this lucid dreaming? Is this somthing else? Can you help interpret these please? Thanks. – Taylor

    • This is a response to Taylor’s dreams,
Hi Taylor, This is a really interesting dream sequence. The solution to the dream makes a lot more sense than the dream meaning so I will give you both. In the first dream, it is when you are alone in the hut, the fire that is cold starts. This means that you get the evil-like voice and presence and coldness when you are feeling alone. Instead of having the fire warm you, it frightens you which seems to be its purpose. In the second dream you are alone in a big crowd where people are wearing a mask and everything is like a polluted fog. This is because you also feel alone in situations where people are not masked as if they are being themselves. Then you have a kind of voice of evil that frightens you and pushes you off the edge.
Both dreams start in the space where you are alone as if you have been abandoned or something and then the negative voice shows up. The solution to the dream is to do exactly the opposite which is to imagine being really close to you and then hear their positive voice in your head. You can do with others and then even with your positive voice. Start with the negative situations like in the dream and then as you are letting them go bring in the picture of the positive situations with the positive voices. When you do this, you will feel like positive people are always close by including your positive self which will give you confidence to go out and do exactly what you want to do.

  2. in my dream me my bf my. Little brother went to go kidnap my girl from them found her upstairs in a room by herself playing in the dark she’s same age as now three… found a window jumped out she looked out I told her if she wants to come with mommy she had to jump no question about it she jumped I caught her we left she was safe

    • This is a response to Leilani’s dream,
Hi Leilani, In this dream you are helping to rescue a kidnapped child. This speaks to your ability inside for people to trust you when they are in a difficult situation. They will come with you because you are easily trusted. It is a very valuable gift that you have. You should be in a helping profession.

  3. i deeamt of a water rushing from a tap and their were large number of people queing for it,i rushed there and got it and drank the cool water, what does it mean?

    • This is a response to Sarah’s dream,
Hi Sarah, Water is a relational element. When people are queing for water, it means that they are trying to drink in love and closeness. It is interesting that you have the dream and you are watching them. It must mean that you have a responsibility to reaching out to people and helping them feel love and closeness.

  4. So I keep having this dream of someone pushing me underwater and struggling to get back above water but once I give up I’m able to still breathe underwater. It’s someone different pushing me under everytime but it’s always something that I know in real life. I’ve had this dream a lot lately and I’m curious as to what it means. Any help would be appreciated 🙂

    • This is a response to Alexis’ dream,
hi Alexis, Water is a relational element. It means that when you get water in a dream it is normally about the quality of your relationship. Depth with regard to water has to do with how deep you are willing to go in a relationship. In the first part of this dream you are being forced to go deep even when you don’t want to go. When you give up, you realize that you can go deep. Now what you can realize that you didn’t have before is that you can choose who you want to go deep with rather than having others force you into depths.

  5. Dear Richard, I really appreciate your faithfulness to interpret my dreams.
Usually I do a pretty decent job figuring out my dreams myself sometimes, but this particular dream bewilders me: I dreamt that everything but me was two things at once. My autistic sister was both neurotypical and autistic, and my mother was both herself and a witch. When her evil side surfaced, I ran away as she chased me, but suddenly she became good again just in time for me to escape. I walked leisurely through a neighborhood that was both one unique to my dream and a recurring one that I’m accustomed to dreaming about, some houses unfamiliar and some I’ve seen in past dreams. I started hearing duplified dogs barking, and got nervous, then passed by the most often recurring house in my dreams. For the first time, the recurring neighbor who lives in the house was not home, but her golden retriever was, and he began chasing me, so I climbed a power line that was also a tree and hoped he wouldn’t climb it. Suddenly, the dog stood on his hind legs and began licking a tall ice cream cone that was both ice cream and cigarette smoke. The dog’s image began to blur and soon he was always somewhere between a dog and my longtime friend and crush, exhibiting both human traits and features as well as dog traits and features. I slid down from the tree to talk to him, but he soon left, so I went on a game show to find him. On the game show, I lost several rounds, finding only humans and dogs that were neither him nor shape shifters. Finally, at the end of the dream I won and found him, and after he turned completely into a dog again we lived happily ever after.

    • This is a response to Empire’s dream,
Thanks for the validation. The reason that you see two figures at once is because that is the way we all are. We have a true self or spirit and then we have an ego or selfish side. It is the ego that causes all the difficulties like it would be your mother’s ego that gives you trouble, but her true self that makes you able to do what you need to do. Dogs in a dream are symbols of friendship when they are positive, but their ego side is aggressive which is why the dog chases you.

The big key in life is to be able to ignore the ego side of people as much as you can and stay out of conflict with their egos. Egos are like two year olds. You cannot win a fight with a two year old. When you can ignore the ego side, then it is important to really pay attention to the true self sides of people. The true self is the positive side of people. In the dream that is what you do. You win because you make friends with the true self which causes you to live happy every after. Just remember to ignore the negative and pay attention to and acknowledge the positive side.

  6. Hi Richard, this morning I had a strange dream. In my dream I was in the second week of a college semester and it was a Friday (I haven’t been in college for 1.5 years). All of a sudden I feel a tooth is loose and I nudge it and eventually pull it out. Then I realize all my teeth are rotting and they are falling out, and bleeding out my mouth. Eventually all my teeth fall out from rotting, starting from the right side of my mouth to the left. The whole ordeal made me skip a class and I had to call the professor/explain the situation which turned out alright. Later on I realize there are new teeth protruding from my gums so I am relieved.

After the whole teeth ordeal, I see my friend’s boyfriend on campus somewhere. I confront him and then I don’t remember much except that he was trying to sexually assault/rape me. I fought him off and then found somewhere on campus to report the incident. It might be notable that I dreamed that he was a previous student at that school I imagined.
(In real life my friend is at a point where the relationship is either going to stick or fall apart, and what I sense that it’s better to stay apart)

    • This is a response to Darren’s dream,
Hi Darren, The purpose of the teeth in a metaphoric sense is to be able to chew on a lot of ideas. In school you are given a lot to think about and a lot to do so sometimes you feel like you are not going be able to have enough chew time. Hence the teeth fall out. The fact that new teeth came means you eventually figured out how to get the time to chew more.

The metaphor of the teeth is a good one for dealing with your friend’s boyfriend. What your friend is not able to do very well is to see the consequences of being in a relationship with the boyfriend because your friend is not chewing enough, thinking enough about what is going on. This happens a lot in relationships when people think that attraction and love are going to solve everything. Your experience in the dream shows his real character.

  7. I had a terrifying dream. Realtively lucid and I felt like I was under sleep paralysis. I do not believe I was experiencing Astral projection. The more I think about it, more of the tiny details change. Like there was a baby fox that dashed into my house (door wide open) and I went to bring it outside where it’s mother was waiting right outside my door and they dashed off. But in my head where the baby fox was quite red, I keep seeing it fade to a greyish color and it seems quite puny or dead and I still handed the baby fox over to the mother where it was very lively again and dashed off. Than I remember being in my room. There was a Beastly character and another that seemed to be a doppelganger version, almost Cheshire cat type version of my partner. The Beastly creature tried to take advantage of me in some way and the version of my partner was doing what they could to keep me safe and get me out of whatever dreaming realm I was in. I kept feeling fingers going into my spine in my dream and that I was being taken advantage of. But my partner in my dream is what woke me up in the end and I felt like gasping for air. I had this dream for about an hour (woke up 3:45). Usually it takes me a long while to fall asleep and having a dream this intense so quickly seemed important to me.

    • This is a response to Ivana’s dream,
Hi Ivana, The baby fox rushing into your house in the dream, especially when you were lucid, means that in order to solve the next part of the dream you have to be clever like a fox. The fox comes into your house as a kind of warning about what you need in your life right now. It is being clever as opposed to say something like being really violent and attacking.
The beastly character represents the fear you have of being taken advantage of. It causes you to be really tense and have spine tingling fear which also makes it difficult to breathe. The fear is a kind of way that the ego tries to protect you. You probably are not in that kind of danger in real life, but if you are going to avoid them, you are going to need to be clever like a fox. When you have the fox like qualities, you will be able to prepare ahead of time and not be surprised unexpectantly. The key is not to be paralyzed but to engage your cleverness.

  8. Hi Richard
I just want to start off by saying i am not what so ever a violent person i have 3 beautiful boys and a husband who i love very much i have no need to be violent which brings me to not understand this dream at all!
So it was the other night I can’t remember the very beginning but for the most part i was with a bunch of people some i knew from work and some from my past all hanging out i noticed someone walked in that I worked with that i have a complicated past with, i asked tto leave and he refused so I pulled out a gun and shot him 3 times!! He didn’t die but I ran and he chased me. I was running through a hallway with blood all over the floor and walls and while I was running i was slipping on the blood which was making it hard to run. As I reached outside to a parking lot i was looking for a place to hide the gun i put it under a car as i was doing that more people was chasing me and they where also all bloody!!! I woke up after i hid the gun but I am so confused i have had a few dreams of doing things like this it scares me a bit actually a lot! Please help!!!

    • This is a response to Amanda’s dream,
The way to look at a dream like this that can be really helpful is to look at the person as having two selves, a positive and a negative self. It is the negative aspect of him that has made your relationship complicated. You are trying to get his negative self, his ego, out of the your life, so you ask him to leave. When he doesn’t leave, you shoot him. Shooting in the dream means trying to shoot his ego down or put down his ego. The problem with this approach to dealing with him is pretty simple as the dream shows. When you try to put him down, he doesn’t go away. He just stays following you and more people come after you. The way you actually should deal with him that will make him go away is to ignore his presence. You can be friendly with his positive self and completely ignore the negative self. When you do this he will go away. It is a principle you can use successfully with other people as well. It works really well.

The reason that it will be difficult for you to do this is that you actually have a part of you that is like him which you probably don’t want to see. This part acts toward your own inner self the way that he acts toward you. When you find it and work on it and change it, then everything will go from really positive to really amazing. If you have a successful marriage and have 3 great kids, it means that you already have a lot of positive things about yourself. This dream just wants to take your life up to the next notch so that you can become even better than you are now. It is a higher level of living and being.

  9. I had a vision before my dream that was of a man,a charred man who was burnt to a crisp, masked by a pitch deer mask. He turned around and the vision abruptly ended. Now, last night, I had a dream that I saw him. This demon, this man who’s being in my actual life-real life, named John Adam Edwards. When I talked to him in reality, I had no idea what he was, but in the dream, it was clear from his burnt skin and ruby eyes beneath the black deer mask. The setting was a masquerade ball, so the mask didn’t catch my attention. Not far into my dream, another man approached and John knew him, yelling,”Why are you here?” He furiously ran away and left me with the man in a white deer mask and crystal eyes. He was somewhat of an angel. He told me his name was Elis and soon we were dancing across the ball floor, but something didn’t settle well with me. I squirmed away and ran to the balcony where John was. Before I could react, he laughed and kissed me, the feeling raw and so realistic. I gasped as if I hadn’t been breathing during my slumber and (he won’t like me telling you all this) but I found he’d been pinching and bruising me for telling people. So, you’re who I could turn to. Please, I really need an answer so maybe I can find out what exactly is in my house.

    • This is a response to Louis Mary’s dream,
The energy that you are picking up from John, when he acts in a negative manner, is like the metaphor of the pitch deer mask. It so sticks in your mind that he seems as if he is everywhere in the house all time, even when a positive presence tries to get in. You should think of it as a manifestation of your mind from dwelling on it. When you let go of it, you can begin to let the positive spirits in. That is the important thing. The more you can let go of the negative thought of the person, the more you will be able to fill your life with positive thoughts and spirits.

  10. My husbands dream – he was in a room where people were pulling on him and he couldn’t fight his way out then ssomeone threw what he thought was a bearded dragon on his chest. He woke up and turned the light on to make sure nothing was on him and couldn’t go back tosleep tthe rest of the night.

    • This is a response to Michelle’s dream,
Hi Michelle, In the eastern cultures dragons are seen as positive figures because they drive away the negative forces in life. When you have a dragon come into your life, you can think of them as doing exactly that. At Chinese New Year time people dressed up in dragons’ costumes go around to all of the businesses to drive away bad spirits for the year. So your husband can ask himself what needs to be driven away, maybe who, then he can ask the dragon for help in doing it. For this to work, he has to realize that the dragon is not real in the real world sense, but more in the metaphoric sense. Then he can go in and communicate with it and it will give him some great advice. Nothing to frightened by.

  11. My brother had a dream that I got shot and killed in a drive by shooting trying to save him 3 shots missed 3 hit me in the chest n stomach what dose this mean

    • This is a response to Tanya’s dream,
Hi Tanya, Being shot in a dream means that you are really put down or as if someone is trying to shoot your self down. There are something people say that miss the mark, but others that really make you feel killed. Your brother is having the dream so that he can know that he has a responsibility for lifting you up by saying really positive things to you. Then you have a responsibility to learn how to be detached from what others say to put you down so that you can go about the opposite process which is to lift people up. When you do the lifting up process, it will changing things around you in a really positive way. It is the best thing you will ever do in your life, lifting others up by your words.

  12. Pls help Iterprtate my dream I Dream that deceased grandfather came back to life in his casket his eyes were weird and he got out dancing and then got back in and died he did this 3or 4 times in the dream and we was all trying to spend as much time with him on the way to the funeral we all laid in the hourse with him I also have repeated dreams of waiting for him to die

    • This is a response to Priscilla’s dream,
Hi Priscilla, This is the metaphoric experience you have with him. Sometimes he seems alive and dancing around in your life, which other times dead. The alive part is the memory of how he is working inside of you so that you can have the positive qualities that he has. It is like he has passed some positive things to you, but you have not fully incorporated them in your life. When you do incorporate them, everything will be amazing for you.

  13. Hi there

I am having a recurring dream that my baby is in my bed and I’m squashing him or the blanket is covering him. He’s never slept in our bed. Thanks

    • This is a response to Lisa’s dream,
Hi Lisa, This dream is more like a metaphor than a real life scenario. You are fearful that you are going to squash or cover up his spirit. You have this fear because you have had this experience in your life where you have been squashed or covered up. Having a baby is a chance for both of you to develop a new aspect of yourselves where you true selves are allowed to come out and be nurtured and grow. It is mostly sustained by a lot of positive experiences where you can grow.

  14. Dear Richard,

I had a dream that I was on a ship and I was drinking a glass of vodka for the first time and a friend/cousin was looking at me, and after that I got up and ran away and started to run he was behind me trying to catch me but I went on the deck and I don’t know exactly what I was trying to so there. All the crew and him were stopping me and then they get a hold of me ans he pulled me in his embrace.
That was really weird I couldn’t understand it.
    Thank you

    • This is a response to Roha’s dream,
Hi Roha, in this dream you have like two things happening. First, when you have the vodka, which is something that tries to get you to forget, it makes you run away from the thing you want. This is because you have a part inside of you that gets you to run away from intimacy. The other part is the part that wants you get to close to others. It is like the ship’s crew and your cousin all collaborating to get you close. When you can hear the part of you that is trying to get you to get close, rather than attending to the part that wants you to stay away, then your life is going to be full of great relationships. Alcohol is a sure way to keep you from true intimacy.

  15. Richard,

I had a dream that I was outside and I looked up into the sky to see a huge, almost parade ballon like Batman. Under him was another abnormally large Zurg figure. Suddenly, they both came to life in the sky and started to battle one another. They fought and some how or another, Zurg turned into a GIANT dog o the ground who was chasing me. He kept looking for me, and I was hiding behind a shed. Finally I too off towards the house and made it inside. The dog got smaller and smaller until it was a normal sized dog. But it was still mean and vicisous. My brother in law comes in to tell me that someone had sniped the giant Batman, and it was a serum injected to make them giant and to come to life. This is the oddest dream I’ve ever had. Ever.

    • This is a response to Kadee’s dream,
Hi Kadee, What this dream shows is that you have a tendency to blow up your imaginations like as if they were big balloons fighting and that the more you stay in that kind of imagination, the more that imagination becomes so real.

The amazing thing that can happen to you, if you allow it, is to do the opposite. In your mind blow up the positive in a big way in your imagination and then the positive will become real in the real world. For instance, just imagine what the best day of your life could be like or the best week or the best month and then go for it.

  16. I had a dream where I falling in love at first sight,BUT there were nothing happen romantic,I just looked his eyes and this so intense feeling of love,we didnt talk or kiss or anything else.Even after waking i Felt his energy for 2 days,I didnt know him but its like that this intense love i Feel someone whom I know and dont know at the same time.

    • This is a response to Christine’s dream,
Hi Christine, This dream speaks to your ability to have love for others and to be in a positive relationship that is based upon love and not romance. This is more about the ability to see into another person’s soul to his real self, and then fall in love with it. When you can do this in the outer world, not only the dream world, then your life will always be full of love with everyone. It is an extraordinary gift.

  17. My ex boyfriend is mad at me and would not talk to me but he allowed me to be at a party at his house when I was sitting in the car about to leave he opened the car door and told me to go in the house

    • This is a response to Nikkia’s dream,
Hi Nikkia, This dream shows that the behavior of your ex-boyfriend was two-sided. He was mad because you didn’t act the way that pleased him, but he was still holding out the hope that maybe you would change and give him what he wanted. Sometimes he would be angry and sometimes he would be nice so that he could get what he wanted. Both behaviors are aimed at the same thing and neither of them were for your benefit only his selfish benefit.

  18. I had a dream that I had slept over one of my close male friends house and he had woken up and started digging his thumb into my rib so I would agree on having sex with him… the strange part is that I felt the pain from his thumb digging into my rib and it hurt extremely bad in real life… I was squirm around in the dream because of the pain… I just don’t know what this is supposed to mean… this dream makes me feel like I can’t trust anyone…

    • This is a response to SilentTeddy,
Nice name, Putting his thumb in your rib is a kind of a metaphor for trying to teasingly put pressure to do what he wants with with, in this case, sex. It seems like your goal in the dream was to get close to your male friends, but not in a sexual way. If you want this to happen in real life, then it is important that you just have very clear boundaries with them so they know not to have sexual intentions. Most men have constant sexual intentions so they need boundaries to know that it is not a possibility for them especially if they have no boundaries themselves about it.

  19. In this dream, I was with my ex boyfriend and we were entering this haunted area guarded by a black bear. We were able to trick the bear into leaving and we closed the gate behind it and continued walking through the haunted area. We came across this murky water and when I looked up at my ex I saw two of him. It was his doppelgänger but he didn’t speak. I quickly asked if my ex saw two of me and he said no. I felt like something was wrong so I began searching for my doppelgänger. I went into the murky water and all of the sudden felt thrashing under water. I went under and saw my doppelgänger tied to a chair drowning in the water. I immediately went and saved her and she survived. My ex looked at me and said that it was a good thing I saved her because if she died here I would’ve died too.

    • This is a response to Tiara’s dream,
A haunted area in the dream world signifies a place in your mind that is haunted by imagined things that are not true. They seem true because others also believe the same thing, but in actuality they are just imagined negative things. Imagination in human beings is meant to be a positive process where you imagine positive possibilities that you keep seeing in your mind. Eventually as you take action on them they become realized in positive ways and give you a lot of empowerment. The doppelgänger inside of you is the person that you are meant to become in the future. It is like your future self. I have the practice of going inside and seeing what my future self is like in a positive way and then ask him what I need to do to get there. It works really well.

  20. I had a violent, twisted dream. My friends and I were walking down a street, and there was a car accident in front of us. Everyone in the accident was unharmed, but the driver who was hit was in a blind fury. He saw us, pulled out a gun and shot at us. I was so confused, a blind fury came over me. I rushed him, knocked him down, and started to mawl him with my bare hands and teeth. I take him home to torture and beat him. Somehow, after I leave the room, he gets up and tries to kill me again. This time, I hessitated, letting him get the upper hand, but my friends help me. It’s the middle of the day, and my friends are ignoring what I’m doing to him, just watching tv. Sitting on top of his body, Clubbing the back if his head with something blunt, feeling very satisfied. When I leave the room, one of my friends in the kitchen asks if hes still alive, I lied and said I was just trying to scare him, when I really wanted him to slowly die. Again somehow, he walks into the kitchen with a hammer and we’re in a struggle, eye to eye. He asks me if I know what my problem is, saying I am pretending to care for my friends, but really want enjoy peoples suffering. I wake up the instant I catch the hammerhead in my hand. I just woke up, had to tell somebody, found your website. Rarely tell people my dreams, thoughts, and feelings, because nobody engages me. I always have to engage them, and as much as I want them to know I care, I’m always hoping they’ll do the same for me, but they don’t. I know I have anger issues, and have been self-medicating for years. Been out of the army for three years. I haven’t yelled, hurt, or put hands on anyone since 9th grade in anger. Get back to me whenever, just thought I’d try this out for fun.

    • This is a response to Will’s dream,
Hi Will, My approach to dream work is solution-oriented. That means that, in my view, every dream has a solution. The obvious energy that solves the dream is compassion. The structure of the dream is that when someone attacks you, even if you don’t get hurt, you attack that person until they suffer terribly. This is because you are engaging your compassion in the situation. The compassionate thing to do in the dream might have been to attack to the driver and restrict him from more violence, but your response was go after him because he went after you. This means that you take offense really easily. In the dream world being shot at means being put down as in being shot down so you must react by feeling humiliated or really embarrassed when you get put down. I am guessing that while you are not violent physically you have a tendency to verbal violence. The self medication is what you do to keep the anger and embarrassment under control.

The process in learning compassion is what people are who really trained well in a martial art like karate do. They are so skilled and confident in themselves that the words and actions of others do not affect them. It is a bit like the expression water off a duck’s back. Compassion allows you to see that the other person really has two selves, an ego and a true self, and you can choose which one to respond to, but first you have to have enough detachment that nothing affects you what others say. My guess is that your true nature is very compassionate and you would work well in fields that require it, but first you need some help in dealing with the anger and embarrassment. You probably need help with overcoming self medication.
