  1. Brandon,
Sleep paralysis is like a metaphor for what happens to you in your waking life. It is like your spirit or your true self wants you to get out of the paralysis so that you can move forward in your life how you want to move, but the paralysis takes over.
The experience in your dream is that first you are in paralysis, then you get people nibbling or biting you, then you get taken away to a dark place where there are a lot of weird things. What gets you out of the paralysis is calling your girl friend’s name who then shakes you out of it.

You can change the sleep paralysis so it mostly always goes away by doing the opposite of the dream. First you make a vision of the most positive place or positive energy that you want to be in. This is really important because in the end you are always being carried to a dark place that is weird. You need a bright place that is really attractive in many ways. Then you need to start biting into the vision which means to take the initial steps into it in real life. If the vision is positive enough, this should not be a problem, but it you don’t do this, then the paralysis will continue in your sleep. It is like this. If your vision was to eat a juicy red apple, then the first thing you would have to do is bite into the apple. After the first bite that is so satisfying, then you can just keep going with the vision until you have eaten the whole apple.

    1. Create a really bright and beautiful vision of where you want to get to.

    2. Take the first leap into the vision. (bite into it)

    3. Continue on until you get to the whole vision.

This is how you get rid of your sleep paralysis and transform your life.

  2. Hello there, My name is Brandon Ballantine, and I’ve had a very interesting sleep paralysis experience happening for about 10 years now. Every now and then, when I fall asleep, I can feel myself going into paralysis (like I’m still awake). Worst part is, every time this happens to me, they try and take me away. Now, I don’t know who “they” is, because I can’t open my eyes, or I can very little, similar to a very blurry squint. Almost like my body is trying to open it’s eyes but can’t. Now I’ve experienced they in many different ways. Many times, I feel the blankets getting pulled down, and then they pick/levitate me up and start guiding me away. Other times, they feel more primitive like they are curious about me and they will nibble on my toes, hands or feet and also taste my skin. Probably the scariest experience aliveβ€”not being able to wake up or open your eyes though you feel awake, while creatures bite on you. It’s even scarier because I can tell sometimes, the bite is a human mouth, because I can feel the curve of the teeth on my skin yet other times it’s different. So when this starts to happen sometimes I’m so tired yet feel so awake, I don’t even bother trying to pull myself out of it. I just let them take me lol. But then they end up taking me somewhere dark with weird sounds and I usually get creeped out by this time and especially for how long the experience has gone on for. I still feel awake, and I honestly try to pull myself out of it, just so I can go to bed. When I do try to pull myself out, it’s like I can’t open my eyes, as said before, so I usually call my girlfriends name. It’s even hard to say her name, I can hear myself, and it’s coming out as a whisper. She says it sounds shaky when she hears it and very faint. Then she shakes me awake, and I’m good. Sometimes, I’ll try to go back to bed and start going right back into the crazy dark people world and have to hurry and shake out of it before I’m to deep. Usually, I just walk around, get a drink, and pray I don’t fall into the darkness again and usually I don’t, so I can go back to bed normally. So yeah I got it all out, what you think doc haha.

  3. This dream shows you that your spirit is extremely attractive and that you don’t need to hide yourself from others. You are a very good catch for any young man. This probably because you are so focused on helping others.

The main thing is to let go of being shy by believing strongly that your spirit is very attractive. God loves the beauty of your soul.

  4. Hi Richard πŸ™‚

I saw a dream last night Related to some marriage proposal.

I saw that in our house, some event celebration is going on, n I was so much busy in serving dinner to every guest. Suddenly someone said that a unknown Mother with her son came to see me for marriage proposal.

I got very nervous, bcz I was looking very bad, my clothes n face was dirty due to cooking food. I then rushed to my room to get dressed up. Mother n her son was waiting for me so long. Mother then got angry, n she suddenly opens my room’s door to see me. I was changing my shirt. I got nervous, n hide my upper naked body with Curtain. No one was able to saw my body. Suddenly mother’s anger was changed, n she become glad to see me.

Then her son came towards me, n put his hand forward for hand shaking. But I was shy, so I didn’t shake hands with him. That boy was so much good looking, that my every relative was very shocked that how this proposal can came for me. After everyone left my room, I then saw my face in the mirror, n I got surprised that my face was glowing n I was looking so pretty, even though I didn’t get time to wash my face before in the dream.

Could u plz interpret my dream?

  5. Brandon,
This is such an interesting dream. I am glad you shared it here. The dream is about the two separate really positive aspects of yourself. First of all you have your Army self, which is represented by attacking the sharks with the help of the dolphins. This actually happens in nature so it is a good metaphor. The sharks are like the bad guys who are trying to use their shark-like behavior to dominate others, something like the Taliban I would guess. The dolphins are your fellow soldiers. You all work together like a team to get the sharks. The ice cream is like the time you have with your family. Because it is so short it is like you have to eat it really fast before it melts because there is no container.
It is probably not easy for you when you are deployed because you love your family a great deal. In the dream world there is no time so that is why the ice cream and the dolphin experience is so close together. In the dream world they can be together as if they are happening at the same time.
To resolve it, it is helpful to realize that what you are doing when you are deployed is for the benefit of your family and also everyone else’s family. With you going after the sharks it keeps negative aggression in the world on the run and fearful which is how we want it. The sharks are not quite as bold as they were 10 years ago and that is largely due to the dolphins working together to hunt them down.
When you return from war you have the added benefit of being a dolphin in a positive way which is very playful in your relationships especially with your children. Children need their fathers to be playing a lot of games and sports with them.
The fear is that the ice cream is going to melt, but you can realize that when you hold onto the dolphin metaphor both in and out of war, it is ice cream for everyone all the time.

  6. Hello thank you for your time. I have never had a dream that makes me think about my life until now. To give you a quick background of myself. I am an Army Officer that is gone a lot from my Wife and Kids. I just got home again and will be leaving again in a month. Now my dream. I actually had two dreans in a row. I dreamt I was hunting sharks with a dolphin. The dolphin would call when he saw a shark. I would dive and catch the shark by its tail and drag it ashore then gut it. I caught three total before the next dream where I was shopping specifically for ice cream but the ice I was picking at the store had no cartons just blocks of frozen ice cream with handles pushed in the sides as if I had to run home immediately to preserve it since it did not have boxes. Thank you for you time. It is appreciated!

  7. This is a response to Cat’s dream.

Cat, what the metaphors in this dream indicate is that your choice to being in a healing profession is the correct one. The marriage symbols mean that you be more strongly committed to your pursuit of this career as if you were married to it. The smoking means something like you don’t have to have people blow smoke on your dreams. You can just adjust your life to make things work out for you. Also the stronger you are who you are meant to be in a true sense the more likely you are to meet really good mates.

  8. This is for Arsenal Fan 13,
I am an Arsenal Fan as well, but not die hard.

The reason that Switzerland and Los Angeles are parts of your dream is because they are places far away from you. This means that the self portrayed in the dream is a part of you that is inside of you, but so not who you truly are. It is way far away from you.

The troubling part is that you are with gangster when they beat the crap out of people. This should cause you some concern. I am sort of guessing that when you look out at the future ahead of you, there is at least an unconscious part that sees the world as we know it being run by gangsters and you are going to be a part of it. On the one hand it is very true that there are a lot of gangsters running the world, but you can also see the exact opposite happening at the same time, which is you having a really positive impact on people’s lives by exercising positive empowerment. This is where you can go with the dream.

The ocelot dream is in the same vein. The ocelots, when negative, are very territorial, like a lot of behavior in the world today. But when you act with your own independence and have strong boundaries like an ocelot that is positive, you can open a lot of doors for yourself that are really positive.

The summary is to not be affected by what you see in the world out there, but believe you can have a positive impact.

  9. Another thing is that I have never been to Los Angeles and I think the image is related to me watching a lot of rap videos set in that environment.

I also have listened to every single Drake song too.

    Thanks,

  10. Hi Richard,
Last night I had the loveliest dream. I was at a wedding on a bouncy castle, when this man suddenly collapsed. I went over to him saying “Let me through, I’m a Nurse.” I started to resuscitate him when a man behind me said “Make way I’m a Doctor.” I knew this man was called Luke because later on in my dream I was married to him, and sat in a 1950s diner with him, eating a meal. I kept looking at all the people sat in the restaurant smoking, and I kept saying “It’s getting in my food. It’s getting in my food.” So Luke said we should take our food home, so we sat under a washing line in the garden and ate it.
I’m a bit confused as to what this dream means. I’m not even in a relationship, and I’m not a nurse yet, though its what I want to be.
    Thanks in advance,
    Cat

  11. Oh sorry

I forgot to mention the ocelots where coming towards me as I left and kept moving on the stairs.
And the first dream was me going towards an underground train station.

    Thanks!

  12. Hi Richard,

Glad I came across your blog! There are few dreams which I’ve been having by which I’m confused with.

But this one in particular? Is this mind games, symbolic or a future premonition?

    I’m not to sure.

    Dream #1

I’m in Switzerland with 2 Swiss gangsters of Turkish origin and Michael Corleone. We were in a hotel looking for a man named Federico. We came in demanding money from him with Michael being the most stern out of all of them. The gangsters then almost beat him to death. We then left the scene and me along with the Swiss Turk gangsters to the nearest train station. I then left alone and was probably in a random ghetto Los Angeles neighborhood sitting in a car bypassing a barber shop listening to a Drake song which does not release yet in real life.

Now it is weird because I have never been to Switzerland even though I have thought about going there one day in the future, The Swiss Turks may come from me being a big fan of soccer and being familiar with the players.

    Dream #2

I’m walking through my school (college campus, i’m 18) in which I was walking minding my own business and I’m about to climb up the stairs to head over to my favorite restaurant on campus for lunch. All of a sudden from afar, I see these 2 ocelots on the stairs blocking my passage.
Then I tried going the other side to another fleet of stairs then again I now see 3 more ocelots on the stairs. I did not want to take another pathway because I thought there would be more ocelots. So I left and avoided even going to the restaurant. No one else seems to notice the ocelots except me which is weird. I don’t know. Maybe they knew not to go there in the first place. I don’t know.

Now I have never ever encountered an ocelot in real life.

I curious to know if there is anything behind these dreams

    Thanks!

  13. Dear Yellow,
Dream 1: Being chased by crocodiles. This dream is about getting to the you inside of yourself that goes for depth in relationships. A crocodile is a reptile that lurks under the water and then pounces when you don’t suspect it. When you are running away from crocodiles, it means you are running away from relationships that are based on men lurking and then pouncing on you. This is the type of shallow relationship that exists pretty strongly in the culture, hence, the multitude of crocodiles. Your spirit wants you to go deep in relationships, not shallow. The husband in your dream is not your real life to be husband but the masculine aspect of yourself that you need to dive fully into things. Your more feminine side loves being in the depths because that is where she feels the most alive, but you have to have a masculine energy that just dives in.
The problem is that you have a fear of the crocodiles and you run away from them. To get over the fear what you need to be able to do is the crocodile-aspect of men as ego that is culturally based and group oriented. You are naturally gifted and helping people go deep so you should be able to just ignore the surface behavior of men and then help them get to deeper levels which is much more interesting.

Dream 2/3: Tortoise and Snake dreams
These are awesome dreams. You are so fortunate to have them because they easily stay in your memory. This is like a continuation of what to do with the first dream. The relational environment you find yourself in your life is often characterized by being “algae-ridden”. To deal with it you need two turtles. Turtles represent the quality of patience. in real life turtles actually eat algae so they are good metaphors for the environment you find yourself in. Patience means being patient with the shallow and lurking behavior of a lot of people in the culture.
Pythons are constrictors so they kill their victims by biting onto them and then wrapping themselves around them. They do not have fangs because they are not poisonous. So the negative aspect of constrictors is that they try to grab you and then constrict you. If you think about a relationship over a longer period of time this is what frightens you that someone would grab you and then constrict you. This would make you try to get away from relationships rather than moving toward them.
So what you can do with this, which may be a challenge, is to be the snake only in a positive way just like being a turtle. Turtles give you patience. The snake gives you a lot of flexibility to try different approaches until you can latch on to work works. Then you can wrap yourself into it.
I suppose the reason for these dream is that you have some rigid ideas and lack some patience about guys which is understandable. This dream says to be patience and flexible and then you will find the right way and be successful.

Dream 4; 7 snakes Another really awesome dream.

In this dream you are in your higher self on top of the ladder. The snakes are below wanting to come to the top. In the dream you are fearful that the snakes are going to get you so you flee. What you can do in this dream and every time you see a snake in a dream or in nature is to say to yourself that snakes mean transformation. This is because they have humility by moving fully on the ground and taking the shape of the things that move over and they can also shed their skin. These are qualities that everyone needs at the beginning of every change process. So really you can see the snakes as like in the other dreams as males wanting to change to get to their higher self like you. They want to be in relationship with you to get to their higher selves. It is quite extraordinary that you have this gift and the dreams are leading you to it.

    Dream 5: The guy

This dream brings you now closer to applying the lessons you have gotten from the animal dreams. The guy is asking you the questions, but he is ending up with your friend. This is because you are capable of helping people find out who they are truly and open up to themselves in a positive way. When this happens, they are ready to connect to others. Your full name is a symbolic question asking who you truly are. You are the one that takes people to deep places in themselves that are positive.

Dream 6: Continuation of real life into the future

In this dream you start on the upper floors and then come down in the beautiful surroundings to the outside world where there is a lot of growth. This has to do with what is possible for you in the future. When you start your life in your higher self, then you help a lot of people to grow like planting trees. Then you can have a successful relationship that produces positive off spring.

    What to do.

The main issue you have is that you have been hurt by crocodiles, which makes it difficult for you to go to deep places. As long as you are stuck in the fear, the progress forward is going to be difficult, but you have to know that you are so amazingly gifted in being able to go for depth. The problem you face is cultural. The culture itself is pretty shallow, but it needs people like you to help transform it. You are a little too early to know if you should contact Aaron in the dream in real life because the fear of crocodiles is the thing that is currently sabotaging your relationships. When you get over the fear, then you will be able to answer the question yourself. Right now you are not fully into your true self so it is difficult to get guidance.

Please feel free to ask more questions. You can do it by email. Also I would recommend having a skype session with me to deal with fear. That would be the quickest way for you to make the changes you need to make.
Thanks for sharing these dreams. It is great to have the sequence.

  14. Hi Richard. I’m so glad to come across your blog. I hope you would be able to help me decipher some dreams of mine- are they symbolic or just mind games or possibly a premonition of the future? Personally I do tend to have dreams that foretells the future (occurs just as I wake up or 1 to 2 years later) and where my intuition is able to capture its general meaning but these recent ones bothers me quite a bit because it seemed so real, lately more frequent (one or two strange dreams every week) yet I don’t really know what it could mean as it has elements such as reptiles, different water settings, unfamiliar places and unfamiliar men. Particularly this year, I’ve been having some really strange dreams, can’t remember all but these dreams has been outstanding different from the ones I usually have, occurred in the past two months.

    Dream 1
In early March. My husband (I don’t have a husband yet in real life and I have never seen this man before) and I ran out from a hotel room to the balcony and saw a group of huge crocodiles lying outside. Somehow we were running away from something and the only way to do it was to step and jump on these crocodiles to escape. My husband did it first and then I followed him. Scary but we managed to run away. Felt relieved for a moment until we realized we reached a cliff overlooking this beautiful clear blue cascade lagoon. The crocodiles were chasing us from behind. We had no choice but to jump into the cascades. My husband said he’ll jump in first and he’ll be waiting for me down there. I remember feeling so scared that I would die from drowning so I said my last words and jumped. As my body splashed into the water, I could feel water entering all my orifices, a weird calming feeling overtook me as if my soul left my body. My body fell to the very bottom of the water, slowly and slowly as it finally touched the bottom, it was as if God gave me a second chance, I felt alive again despite being under water and I rose slowly back up to the surface. I gasped for air and looked for my husband. Saw him not far away, so I swam to him. I woke up.

    Dream 2
Mid March. My body was submerged by something above into a cluster of ponds or lakes. The water was dark greenish-blue, similiar to an algae ridden lake. Then in one pond/ lake, I found myself to be half submerged, standing on my feet in the water. In front of me were two tortoises, somewhat floating on the surface looking at me. Curious, I approached them to have a better look. So suddenly, a huge snake (anaconda like, dark greenish) came from the bottom of one the tortoise or one of the tortoises became the snake (it happened so fast, can’t really tell), sprung forward and bit my left wrist. Shocked. I woke up with my heart pounding out of my chest, out of breath because the feeling of the snake biting my wrist felt so real. It had no fangs though.

    Dream 3
A few days later, I also woke up in shock as I dreamt of possibly the same looking snake, a long, huge, dark greenish, square headed snake standing in front of my face with its black fork tongue sticking out to the left and right just in front of my nose.

    Dream 4
In April. I was climbing a house ladder. As I almost reached to the top, I looked down, there like 7 snakes slithering their way to me. These snakes looked different than my previous dream. They are way smaller (less than 1 meter) and have attractive batik motifs and bright colors- yellow, red, green, black and white on their skin. Two of them slithered up the ladder. One almost reached my feet to bite. I was so scared of them that I jumped down the ladder and ran out the room.

    Dream 5
In early April, I suddenly had this dream of a guy that I know (briefly acquainted to be more precise, we’ve only met once 2 years ago, introduced through a mutual friend who have had feelings for him. Although we only met in a very short frame of time, I can somehow feel that we both can connect through our thoughts and emotions without speaking a word when we first met, there was some attraction, maybe some flirting but nothing really happened because of our busy lives. We now live in different time zones and different countries), sat beside me on my left, poked me and passed me a rolled up piece of paper. I opened it and to my surprise the whole paper was scribbled with questions about myself and confessions about himself to me. The only question I can remember now is ‘what’s my full name?’ and the general idea i got about the whole paper was that he’s been wanting to get to know me but he doesn’t want to hurt my friend’s feelings. Then in that dream, I looked to my right, my friend is sitting far off in the right corner of the room, far away from us, seemingly oblivious about what happened between the two of us. I felt secretly guilty but I was ready to answer his questions. Coming back to reality, I found out later through a social media that this guy just asked my friend out for coffee around the same timing I had this dream. I honestly find this to be a strange move since I remember last time I was sitting with him, he made it very clear that he doesn’t like short women and my friend is actually very short. The question is, should I act on this dream or leave it?

    Dream 6
After that dream 5, I had this dream around last week. I woke up in an unknown room in a daze. Didn’t know where I was I went out of the room into another room. The room was very spacious, brand new, empty. Then I went to search for the stairs. The stairs was a huge beautifully made spiral stairs, with nice wooden rails. As I reached ground floor, I still didn’t know where I am. Very confused, I saw the front door and walk towards it. As I reached the front door, I passed by the dining area and living room, which were also very spacious, seemed to have been newly decorated with the finest materials- marble panels, heavy wooden furniture, huge heavy curtains in earthy warm tones. Personally not my kind of taste I remember saying to myself but it was all beautiful and expensive things. So I opened the door and walked out to the porch. To my surprise, outside were some migrant workers sitting on the porch as if resting between works. Then I had the notion that the house was still brand new and as if someone just moved in. So I walked out further to the front lawn. I was even more puzzled. I was surrounded by endless rows and rows of newly planted pine-cypress looking trees 8 to 10 feet tall which sprawled from left and right side of the house yard. But there was one huge old tree that looked like an oak-plane tree that provided a lot of shade for the front of the porch. I remember the weather was nice- not hot, not cold and the skies were clear blue, no clouds. At this point, I was terribly confused and felt really lost, so I blurted out a familiar name. I called out “Aaron?”, then I heard a man’s voice replying “Yes.” from behind me. So I turned and saw a tall young man came from behind the trees, walking up to me and smiled at me. I didn’t know who he is so I ignored him and called out again louder “Aaron??”, then the same voice replied “Yes” behind me. I turned again and saw a tall, old, bald, white haired man who seemingly was attending to the plants stopped his work and walked up to me. From a distance, I couldn’t recognize this old man until he came closer. It took me a while to realize, it’s an older version of Aaron (Aaron is the guy I briefly met in dream 5) and I was able to recognize it’s him by his eyes. As he came close to me and the young man, he smiled and said, ” She’s been single all her life….” then put his left arm around my shoulder and pulled me close to his side, walking me back into the house. Apparently, he went on saying some other things that I can’t remember. I learnt shortly afterwards in that dream that Aaron is my husband and that the young man is my youngest son- age 20s-30s. And strangely though, I asked Aaron, “Where are our daughters?” He said they’ve all gotten married and followed their husbands, leaving the youngest son living with us. The three of us walked together back into the house. Towards the end of the dream, I was still dazed and confused. I then woke up, dazed and confused until now.

These dreams have occurred in this order of time, quite disturbing by the content of it especially the reptiles. Do you think all these dreams are related to one another? In the case of dream 5 and 6, I’m not sure if I should contact back the guy since it’s been two years, maybe he’s moved on and I’m actually a very shy person, fearing rejection due to past rejections. Would it help if I say, I’ve been getting some strong surge of feelings from him, particularly this year, during last two months. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and feelings on this. I truly appreciate your time reading and answering my dreams. Many, many thanks in advance, Richard.

  15. This is for Caitlyn’s dream,
    Hi Caitlyn.
This dream is about the virtue of empowerment. Empowerment is ability inside of yourself to achieve whatever you set your mind to by using all of your skills and abilities to finish something. The fear is represented in the negative man chasing you or appearing. That man represents male energy, usually men in power, who use their will in a negative way to get what they want usually by force. Not all men are like that, but the man in your dream is. It is a fear that is shared by all of the females in your family both older and younger, but it is up to you to solve the dream so that no one will be afraid anymore.

The way you deal with negative energy where people use their will in the wrong way takes two steps. First you have to develop all of your inner powers, all of your skills and capacities. Then you need to keep those kind of men out of your life even if they are in your own family. The way you keep them out is by using assertiveness. When you refuse to relate to them or be around them, they leave. It is that simple, but you have to be really assertive.
When you develop your own abilities, then you can do whatever you want. Go for it.

  16. This is a response to Jes’s dream.

Jes, When you are doing a dream like yours, it is often great if you will just go to the end of the dream, find the positive in the dream and then turn it around and go in a positive direction. At the end of your dream you are riding horses with your new family to get away from the impending storm rather than setting sail on a vast new enterprise.

If you look at the horse as a positive metaphor, you can see that it has two really great capacities, enthusiasm and power because they can move fast and also carry people for work over long distances. So they have spirit but also can endure. When you have enthusiasm, it means you can have a vision and then can take steps toward it usually by jumping in to new things. With power you have the ability to finish what you start because you use your good skills to get where you want to go. The dream shows you how you are doing that even if the goal is to get away from the storm.

What you really want to do however, is go for setting sail on a new big enterprise with your new family. The fear is that you are going to be caught up in hurricane probably because that is what happened in the past. The solution to the hurricane is being calm in the face of people trying to whirl things up.

So it looks like probably as a person you already are like a horse, but maybe you can just work on the calm then the new marriage will be total bliss. Anyway, let me know what you think and good luck on the marriage.

  17. To Richard,
Last night all I remember dreaming about is running. The dream I had, I was in town with my mum when this man suddenly became angry at us, and started to chase us. It was one of those dreams where I could never run fast enough and I ended up panicking. My sisters had been there also, but had disappeared half way through the dream along with my mother, leaving me running alone. I decided to run to my Grandma and Grandad’s house as it was quite near but when I got there they were both out and the door was locked. The only person (or living thing) there was my dog Lucy who had died almost a year ago. She was trying to open the door for me but couldn’t manage. I jumped over the wall to Mrs Hemingway my Grandma’s next door neighbour but because she was an old lady I didn’t want to put her in any danger. I was suddenly with my five year old sister and my six year old cousin, and I was trying to run with them and keep them safe but they were getting tired and we couldn’t run fast enough. I remember trying to run to my Great Grandma’s house with them but when I looked over at my Grandma and Grandad’s house (The house I’d just visited) I saw there was a man dressed in purple standing at the window watching me. I think this was the man I was running from. I managed to get to my Great Grandma’s street, but I couldn’t find her house so I asked some old ladies and they showed me the way. My Great Grandma told me to go back to my Grandma and Grandad’s house, so I did. I was now alone again, both my sister and cousin had disappeared. So I went back to my Grandma and Grandad’s house, as my Great Grandma had told me, and I met my other sister there, who helped me inside and then went to bed. She told me that Grandma and Grandad were working and would be home in the morning, so I decided to stay up and watch TV. Whilst I was watching TV I started to fall asleep (In my dream) I dreamt that a man dressed in red was trying to keep me hostage) I was awoken (In my dream) by the sound of someone running up the driveway, I heard someone tapping at the window and I was scared, because I knew that I was in danger so I didn’t open my eyes, but for some reason I knew that the man was dressed in yellow. The man went away when my Grandma and Grandad came home from work, where I was told it was six o’clock in the morning, the break of day. Then I woke up. (In real life)
I’m very confused as to what my dream was about and why I was running. I felt like my family had abandoned me, as all members of my family either weren’t there for me or disappeared half way through the dream (Including my dog) I am also wondering whether the colours of the clothes the men were wearing have any significance.
    Thanks in advance,
    Caitlyn

  18. Hi I was hoping you could answer my dream I had in April 2014, πŸ™‚ I posted it here but you didn’t reply πŸ™‚

  19. Robert,
Traditionally the role of uncles in the world has always been to help young men transition from the stage of childhood or adolescence into adulthood. This is because they are not quite your father so they can be close and connected, but still not so attached and overbearing. Uncles are more likely be encouraging and allow for more risk taking because they are not as invested as fathers. There is nothing quite as encouraging as a positive uncle to take you on adventures.
Symbolically in the dream your uncle gives you new pants, which means he is helping you try on new roles of manhood. The hunting and fishing metaphors are also meaning to go out in the world and make something of yourself. Spilling the oil signifies that uncles don’t care as much about mistakes like mothers or father do. They let things go more easily.
The dogs mean being friendly with the new roles you find yourself moving toward. In the modern world especially in the age of instant communication young people try to put off adulthood for as long as they can reverting back to childhood and dependency all the time. You are being encouraged to move forward and try on the new pants of being a man. It is an awesome dream!!!!!!
