  1. Some days ago, I had a really interesting dream. I dreamt that we were in a school excursion and we would stay in a hotel, which looked like a cave. I shared a room with three of my friends (I am a 10th grade student). The room had a double sized and a bunk bed, where I slept with a friend of mine. My brother (who is two years older than me) shared a room with three of his best friends, too, which looked exactly like mine. My brother’s crush, who is a year older than me, shared also a room with her three best friends. Her friends left the room, and she locked herself in. Then, our Maths teacher came and he was knocking on her door persistently. Then, my brother came, the girl opened the door, she hid herself behind him and my brother pushed the teacher in the chest with his forefinger. For your help, my brother loves that girl for about 10 months but we don’t know what does she feel. She doesn’t tell him anything.

    • This is a response to Kon’s dream. The interesting thing for me is that you are having this dream which shows that what happens to your brother and his life also affects you, positively or negatively. This is because, even though we are different people, we are like the fingers of one hand, very connected. What happens to your brother and his girl friend also has an impact on you.

The problem with the girl is that she hides herself from other. So rather than pushing the math teacher what your brother needs to be is like a math teacher or mathematician. He needs to figure out what will bring the girl out of hiding. Mathematician have the great quality of patience and seeing many solutions. This is what your brother needs and you can tell him. He has to study the girl and then find out what will bring her out. Then they can have a good relationship. It is a good thing for you to learn as well.

  2. @Sarah I know I’m not the one to be answering this and it’s probably none of my business, but this is a very interesting type of dream and means an awful lot. The parts you did remember are incredibly significant, although the extra info is not much help as you explained the dream itself very well. As for my actual interpretations, I’m not great at forming them, but I think the second has something to do with a growing sense of confidence/entitlement or a warning to be satisfied with what you have. As I said, I’m not great at this, but you’re a lucky one to be having this kind of dream. I would look forward to seeing a reply from Richard on this.

  3. I had strange dream. I am not sure if it was a single dream or two separate ones.

In the ‘first’ one I am some middle/upper class family’s daughter (or so it seems) and this guy who seems to be of similar status, perhaps even slightly higher, is playful with me. He hugs me onto what seems like a sofa?? He is very good-looking. I think I saw my mum, or just a mum, in my dream, I am not sure if she was here when it happened in my dream or not, and whether she had any opinion. She was just standing there. I think.

My ‘second’ dream was that I was a sister of a fairly upper class family
The suitor’s family/servants (don’t know which it was), who were women, thought I was a servant and reprimanded me for some reason and I corrected them back. My sister always had more possessions than I ever had.

That was pretty much it. Unfortunately I could not remember the details and some parts may be slightly wrong, but I got the main points down, accurately. And yes, I do have a sister, a younger one, and parents. My younger sister is not someone I am envious of, in case your were wondering. But rather missing deeply as she was sent abroad because of my dad’s medical condition.

So that was extra info. No what does my dream/s mean?

    • This is a response so Sarah’s dream. I am always happy to receive other people’s input so thanks to Alistar for the comments. In the dream you have moved up in class, have people attending to you both in a positive and negative manner which you seem to handle fairly well. So the question of the dream is what does it mean to move up in class in the dream world?

In your life you are becoming or have become a classier person in a good way. To have class means that you act in a high class manner, which is akin to acting with honour. To act with honour means that you do things for higher reasons rather than just for lower reason like money and status. Honour is like being noble where you think in loftier purposes like doing things for sake of humanity. There are lots of upper class people who do not act in a noble way so the dream clearly has nothing to with money, but more to do with how you hold yourself in the world and what you are aiming for.

  4. Hello 🙂 i recently had a dream where i was at a gathering with strangers and my husband. In the dream we were outdoors and i saw a green glass garden house. I walked inside alone and saw a huntsman spider on the floor in front of me. I then saw a blue humming bird that i thought was beautiful. Then a moth flew in my face. I then left the room and went to see my husband to remove the spider because i was scared. He acknowleged me by looking at me while i spoke but chose to ignore me and continue on with his conversation to a fictional friend in the dream. I then said “fine ill do it myself”. I went back to the garden house and as i opened the door i accidently hit the humming bird and it fell to the floor but it got back up again, i felt bad about it. Then i woke up. Id really appreciate some help on interpretation. Thank you!!

    • This is a response to Sandi’s dream about the garden house.
What is helpful for you in this dream, Sandi, is to understand that the green glass garden house represents the place inside of where you go to grow as a human being. It is like the place in you where you transform yourself into positive. It is nice that it is transparent because that means you are not fearful of letting others see you in the process.
The hummingbird represents the quality in yourself that you would like to have more of because it is what you are attracted to. Since you regard it as beautiful, it means you are really after your own inner beauty which is a great thing. The moth is a good symbol to have because moth’s show us that we move through stages to get to transformation. They often are symbols for change. The problem you have in the dream is with the huntsman spider. In real life huntsman spiders are really positive animals because they eat a lot of insects, but in your dream you are trying to get your husband and then yourself to get rid of it.
In the process of changing yourself you need a huntsman spider because it takes away the unwanted negative in your life which is what you need to do if you are going to maintain your inner beauty. There are always going to be negative forces trying to upset you so the spider is like the part of you inside that deals with those negative pest-like forces. If you kill the spider, you also kill the hummingbird because the negative forces keep you from seeing things in a beautiful way.

So, don’t kill the spider. Give it rightful place and it will be happy getting rid of negative things.

  5. Rachel,
If you just type in transformation in the category section and page down you will get to those posts which begin in January of 2013. It will also get to some other really interesting posts that may help.

  6. My apologies – It was probably closer to two years ago when the posts went up. Maybe March 2013? Around there?

  7. Hi Richard,

I was going back through some of your posts from last year and I found where you did a 19-day program for Transformation. I’m interested in re-visiting some of the ideas and concepts you introduce in this Dreamwork Transformation Program but am having difficulties accessing them in my inbox as I didn’t save them in folders at the time. I was wondering if you have access to those 19 posts and if it may be possible to create a new category just for those 19 so it is easy to get to from your blog page? It is just an idea as I do remember at the time that those 19 ideas had a huge impact in my ability to be able to detach from a few habits of thought and behaviour that weren’t working too much for me anymore and move into some great opportunities that presented themselves. At the time I got stumped on a few things you mentioned but now seem to understand more of what you meant and I just want to go back to see where I got stuck before and see if I might be able to deepen my understanding of your approach.

  8. Hi Richard 🙂

Lately my boyfriend & I have had a few arguments. So the other night I dreamt that we broke up & I was dating someone new, while I was sitting with this new guy, I suddenly stared blankly & felt a sense of sadness & I thought to myself ‘it’s not Sam, it isn’t the same’ (Sam is my bf) & I missed him from that moment, I felt like nothing without him. & I had something telling me ‘this is how he would feel without you’ it’s like I felt what he felt. What does this mean?

    • This is in response to Sara’s dream.
Sadness is the emotion that lets you know when something is over, but you continue to hang onto what you used to have. The fact that you are sad in the dream is a good indicator that despite the positives you have had with your boyfriend, the relationship with Sam has probably run its course. When you give into the sadness, it means that you go back to the place where you were before the arguments. You forget the arguments to try to stay in the positive feelings with the emotions and then you the arguments soon reappear only worse. There is a some reason that you have had arguments with him. Usually it is that the boys are overly self-centered. The reason you get angry with him is because at some point in the relationship you are nothing and he is everything. Before you get into a new relationship, you will need to work on always feeling like you are something.

  9. i dreamt my Mum had a pet snake (btw she hates snakes) but she loved this one it was a bright red snake with yellow/green eyes it reared up at my Mum as if to strike her face and she screamed at it and it backed down it was very vivid and extremely detailed unlike most of my dreams just wondering what it means as it’s stayed with me for a few days and it’s troubling me for some reason thank you

    • This is in response to Kellie’s dream. One of the things that is important to understand when you are analyzing a dream, Kellie, is how you are feeling and reacting. In this case you are troubled by what is happening to your mother. Snakes in dream represent transformation, either in a positive direction or in a rapid deterioration. This dream has both positive and negative elements to it so that there a quite a lot to learn from it about change. What stands out about this snake is its colour and brightness. This means that your mum was drawn in by what seemed to be an attractive manner to get some change. It probably has to do with physical beauty in some way. When the snake showed its true colours by rearing up and getting ready to strike, your mum had to be extremely assertive for her to get the snake to back down.

What you need to get from this is the ability to see beyond the external beauty and its attractiveness, and then go for the deeper more internal changes to get to the real beauty. Most women are lured in by the promise of beauty. It is mostly a woman’s issue. This is not to say that being externally beautiful is a negative thing or being outwardly beauty is a bad thing, but it is just not what it promises. The real beauty is the stuff on the inside like character. The reason the dream stays with you is that you know that character change is what you are after in your life, not just physical. This dream drives home the point.

  10. Hey, this dream actually pushed me forward in life and I’m so happy to have experienced it. I became who I was in the dream, I don’t know why, but it just felt like I should change myself and the day after I did. I just don’t understand it though, and where it came from. —- I go on vacation with my school mates to some snowy mountains. In an elevator to our cabin, my crush is talking with her friends, then she notices me behind her and leans into me. (Though in real life, I’ve only seen her around and we don’t really pay mind to each other.) I think for a second and then embrace her from behind, at first very tightly, and say “My bad”. We laugh with her friends for a second as I loosen our hug. When I do, we stay in this embrace for a while, and the people around us on the lift make curious sounds like “ooh” under their breath, with a satisfying sense of approval in the elevator. …For the rest of the dream, I’m doing dumb, brave things by myself and with friends, often contemplating and asking if this is reality, either unanswered or answered along the lines of “yes, are you tripping?” and similar responses.

    • Kanye,
What is really nice about the dream and your response to it is that it shows you how you can live your life and be successful all the time. The dream shows you how that when you are attracted to a goal or starting a relationship with someone, that you simply have to go for it and then positive things begin to happen. With everything you do in life there is an element of risk. The dream shows you that the risk taking quality that you have for skiing also applies to relationships with people like in meeting girls.
So as long as you can keep taking risks because you see a possibility and go for it, you will be having an amazing life. At some point, but not right now, you will need to make the purpose for what you are going for not just for selfish interest. Your true self will want to do something beneficial for all of mankind because we are all hard-wired that way. For now you just need to be attracted and go for it.

  11. Deanna,
One way you can think about your experience is that in the invisible world like the world of dreams or the spiritual dimension people are connected all the time as if they are standing right next to each other. This is because, in the other realm, which you are living in simultaneous to the physical one, there is no space, no distance. It is like your spirits are connected and always connected. Having a facebook message from him after a dream reminds you that though he is far away physically, yet your spirits are ever entwined.
The three dreams are similar. The first is believing that he is dead to you now because he is far away, but the second and third remind you that he is with you close by.
Being connected to someone through a close friendship is more powerful than any other force in the universe. The reason that you cannot relate to him being with you right now in front of you like it is in the spiritual dimension is that you have important things to learn in the physical space where you are now. It is important that he is not there with you in that space at this moment. If you could see your connection all the time as if you were spirits, you would have no desire to be in the physical dimension at all and then you would not be grounded in what you need to learn.
He will always be close to you even if you do not see each other for 30 years.

  12. My dream may be different from the others..It’s kind of confusing for me, actually..Maybe this would need more info for you to figure out what this actually is..But, I dream about my best friend who is a male (I’m female). We’ve been friends since 2009 and I’ve only saw him twice since we graduated in 2011. We still stay in contact, but not as much as I want to since he’s pretty busy all the time. Anyways, my dreams always ends up being in school again. There were 3 other dreams that were different, 1 was where I was at his funeral, the second one was where we were somewhere else and kissed, and the 3rd one was when we were on a date..But, this is where the confusing part for me comes in..About 95% of the time when I dream about him, I either wake up to a facebook message from him or later on that day. This has been happening to me for well over 6 months now, not exactly when it first started, but it was definitely over 6 months ago. Is this just a coincidence? Or is there an actual reason behind why something weird like this is happening to me? Thanks. Deanna 🙂

  13. Hi,
When someone is killed in a dream, it means that you end a relationship. In this case when someone robs your family, you believe that you can end the relationship with the perpetrators. The problem is that despite trying to end up a relationship, you still keep them alive in your mind and then are fearful that you are going to be robbed again. When you do this, the fear of being robbed again causes you to first hide and protect yourself and your children and then to drive away so that it doesn’t happen again.

Whenever you have a dream where theft is involved, it means that there is a lack of generosity in the environment. People are protected. in real life it is important to take necessary precautions to insure that you have security, but the solution to theft is to become a lot of more generous in everything you do rather than being protected.

A dream that has a lot of fear in it means that you are at the beginning stages of this quality, being generous. As you learn about it and practice being more generous, you can let the fear go and watch how everything around you changes in a positive way. The first place you can begin is with your children since they are the ones you are trying to protect. You can be generous with the amount of quality time you spend with them and in developing their capacities. Then you can extend out and be generous with other family members and then your neighbours and associates. Gradually you can include a larger and larger circle.

  15. My husband is having an affair. His mother has been deceased over 5 years. I was snooping and I saw him ask his brother what does it mean if mom visited your girlfriend (the low down mistress) in a dream and told her to come with her. I want to know what it means and if it’s a sign that his mother accepts her affair and all.

  16. Dear Richard,

I had the most peculiar dream the other night. I was on an island, with a close friend of mine. We were living in a big house, which might have been a mansion, and I was wearing shorts and a teeshirt with my hair in a messy bun. I think I was laid back and at home there, because of the way I was dressed. Then, I look through a big window in the house, which was on the first floor, since it was a 1 story mansion. I see my friend, Triston, who has confessed his love for me before, walking across the sand in a suit and flowers, with gifts. I open the door for him, and ask him what he is doing there. He hands me the gifts, and tries to flirt with me. Suddenly, we are outside the mansion, and on the beach in front of the house. Supposedly, we need to dig through the sand to a tunnel, which leads to a secret entrance to some base (like a spy base) or something. We dig a hole big enough, and slip through one at a time. We need to hurry,or else the sand will start caving in. We are faced with a long door, which looks like a garage door, and 10 watch looking locks, where you need to insert a number. It’s a number combination thing, where if you don’t answer in time, you will be engulfed by the sand. Me and Triston don’t know the answer, so we climb back out of the hole. Just then, my friend that lived with me, she brings a strip of paper with the combination on it. We are about to re-dig the hole, when I wake up. Maybe the mansion had to do with my aunt in OK who is building a one story mansion?

  17. Hi, My name is Sarah.
I had a dream where I think, I was chasing a boy with dark hair (I’m not sure about this but I think it’s a turkish boy in my french class, I find him very manly, or perhaps I made that part up), in a passageway with rows of shops on both sides.

That was all I could remember. What does my dream mean?

    • Hi Sarah,
This dream means that you are trying to chase after manly qualities in you. Usually these are things like strength and assertiveness and courage. If you try to go after a relationship with a guy who has these qualities, it is because you are hoping that the relationship with him will give you those qualities. What is better for you to do, is to learn how to have those qualities by joining an activity that requires them like a particular kind of sport.

  18. So I’m not sure if this is where I put the dream. But I’m at my little half sisters birthday party, and one of the things we’re all doing is making papier-mâché masks from our own faces. Afterwards I feel like all of her friends are so much older than they should be, I desire to go into the bathroom and try on my mask, and it looks exactly the same as when I’m not wearing the mask, then I hold up my little sisters and I think to myself oh, I like how that one looks better- but decide on putting on my own mask anyway.

    • This is a reply to Andi’s dream,
The purpose of putting on a mask at a birthday party is for the purpose of trying on being like someone else. The reason this is a good thing is that it helps us begin to see that there are some new things we could develop in ourselves that we had never considered before. You could consider being like your little sister because she has something that is good for you to have. The pretending is a door to adding positive traits to yourself.

  19. I had a dream I was in some kind of bus or vehicle in the jungle and those blue Avatar creatures attacked and cause our bus to turn and fall into some kind of ditch and crashed. I was hanging outside of the bus on one leg upside down preventing me from falling. And the same Avatar woman came to try to finish me off but before she could, this thing got in her way and just like in the movie, it was some sign to not kill me . Then I was dragged off somewhere. I was not at all afraid in the dream. I actually felt quite fearless.

    • This is a reply to Reese’s dream.
This is really a nice dream. If you keep going with the metaphor, you will find that your life will be completely turned around from a material purpose in life to one that has your true purpose at heart. It is like you are at the beginning of your true life and you need to wake up that there is a different reality out there that is totally different than everything that you are experiencing around you. Your spirit desires to go on the new journey, but you have to wake up to it first.
