  1. I am a homsechooled high schooler with only one close friend-a guy I secretly had a crush on- left after I moved to a new place. After the day I found out he had given up on me and moved on from this nearly six year childhood friendship to replace me with a beautiful amazing girl I feel inferior to, I had this dream: I was in the backseat of my mom’s car with his little brother, who is ironically in waking life the age my friend was when we’d become best friends “forever.” We pulled up into the driveway of their house, and he, his pet jackson russel terrier, and the girl he’d replaced me with-who for some reason looked exactly like my middle school crush’s new girlfriend-, came out of the house. The little brother opened the car door and the dog came inside. The little brother kicked the dog in the head to get it excited, so I ran out in fear. I didn’t want the ex best friend to see I was afraid, so I tried to get into his house before the dog could catch up to me. He had locked us out of the house, so I rang the doorbell and stared anxiously at the door, trembling at the thought of the dog nipping at my heel. But instead of the dog, my ex best friend came and stood behind me, between me and the object of my fear. When the dog calmed down in submission to him, he came and stood close next to me on the porch as we stared at the door together. He was wearing my father’s black robe. It was two sizes too big for him, but the plushness of the sleeves was comforting to me. His fingers just barely poked out of them, but I wanted to hold his hand, I wanted to know if we would go into the house together of if he was going to stay outside with his family and his new love. I reached out tentatively, and he looked at my hand, then interlocked his fingers with mine. Then he looked at me, blushing, and the dream ended just before the door was about to open.

    • This is a response to Empire’s dream,
The problem you have in this dream is pretty much a worldwide cultural issue for everyone who has watched a Hollywood movie. In Hollywood there is this romantic notion that a gorgeous girl is going to give you something more than you get when you are with your best friend so we now have cultural phrases like I want to be more than friends. The fact is that being a best friend with someone for life is what a really great marriage is about. Then you add the physical intimacy and it is awesome and tender. Looks fade and are only there so that other people can think you are so great. They have no intrinsic value. In the dream you are in the back seat which means that now you are in the back seat of the relationship as if you are still a child and he has grown into a romance seeker. Dogs are symbols of friendship at the best level so when you realize that friendship is the strongest basis for a great relationship, then things will really work for you. Whether it works with him as it did in the dream is not important. What is important is that you continue to believe in friendship as the basis of friendship and not in how someone looks.

  2. Hi there. I just woke up from tge weirdest nightmare. I had a dream that was in a relationship with some guy, and i think it was one of my exes, and that we lived in one of my childhood houses….then as the dream continues i find out there are dead bodies dismembered in like five or six boxes….my dream then continued and ended where my bf in the dream was violently wrestling some woman cop and i woke up right as they were struggling to pull the trigger…..what does this mean?????

    • This is a response to Lucy’s dream,
Hi Lucy, In your dream you are in your childhood house which means that you have a part of you that is trying to do your relationships like your childhood self that is probably needy and self-centered. When you do that, the relationships all die, hence the corpses. What you need to do is have your relationships in your older self that is more mature and can think about the needs of your partner over yourself. When you can do that, it will really work. Your boyfriends will be tender rather than violent.

  3. Ok so I had this dream that for some random reason we were going to the school that my cousin goes to, but idk why. When we got there, my parents and my sisters went in, but I stayed outside with the rest of the kids. My cousin(He’s a boy, and I’m a girl), who is a year older than me, came up, grabbed me by the neck, and said to me, “You’re an annoying little nothing! Thats why you don’t have any friends!” He then choked me for a few seconds and threw me onto the ground. Then, that teams star girl basketball player comes to me and pushes me to the ground, punches me, stomps on my nose, causing it to bleed, and throws me at the wall. Then, while her friends continued to kick me, she started telling me what a loser I am, how dumb I am, how annoy i am, and how ugly I am. Then after I left, I didn’t tell my parents a thing. Then I went to my school, and she was there. She did the same thing again. After that we went outside, and she was playing football. I was walking. She came over and started to make fun of me again. I started to cry. Then she threw the football at me, and shoved my face to the ground, forced grass into my mouth, and left. I laid on the ground in tears. Then I woke up. Now I’m scared to even think about my cousin, or that girl. Idk what any of that meant bc I barely talk to either one of them.

    • This is for the dream from Anonymous,
The problem that you have in this dream is that you stay outside of school and outside of really learning how to do things because you have had a lot of put down experiences that tell you that you are not very good at what you are doing. You are having both your abilities and yourself attacked so inside you feel attacked when you try to go for things. The solution is to have you changes the voices inside of your head from really negative that gives you false beliefs about yourself to really positive voices that tell you that you are amazing.
Right now you are fearful that if you try to really go for something big that you are going to be put down. The best way to overcome the fear is to have a positive voice in your head telling you positive things all the time.

  4. I had this guy over at my house named Steven. I like him in real life. So I was going through his phone an I saw pictures of myself on there. He was just a friend but he blushed in embarrassment. I asked him what they were for. All he said was he was making a portrait of me.

    • This is a response to Elizabeth’s dream,
Hi Elizabeth, When you have dream like this, it means you need to regard yourself in a really positive way that people are attracted to. He carries the pictures in his phone because he is attracted to you. This is a sign that you need to be attracted to your own self, that you have a lot of positive things about yourself. It doesn’t necessarily mean that he is the right one for you right now, but it also doesn’t hurt to take more risks in getting to know him. If you have a positive image of yourself, a lot of people will want to be around you.

    • This is a reply to Ava’s dream,
Hi Ava, Buying a house in a dream means that you want to acquire a new self. This means that you are really ready to make some major changes in your life especially letting go of your ego. The first question you can ask yourself is who the new self is that you want to become. Usually there is one kind of quality that will make a big difference. When you see large roaches, it means that you are being bugged often by others or things that happen in your life. So the presenting emotion that your ego would give you is anger (being bothered). Usually the solution to a roach dream is patience. Patience is a quality that most people need, but they usually only ever talk about making it. To develop patience, you need to learn how to stop time like in doing something like meditation.

  5. Hi Richard,

Here is a dream I had last night.

Drove a black truck through a hospital sliding door to get away from someone I feared…(man in construction clothes) was trying to drive faster and lock the doors but the truck was new to me so it was slow going and I said to myself I have to be able to do this faster. The man was running behind me. I was afraid he’d get on the truck.

I got out and away and called the police right away but I didn’t remember a thing. Who was he? Where did he come from? What did he do that scared me? So as I was waiting I was trying to remember. And even started walking back to the hospital to see if I could figure it out before they arrived.

I’m in my mom’s house suddenly but it is calm and clean. It’s still big and old but she has cleaned it well and it was in good repair. I’m impressed actually. Humph. What a pleasant surprise.

Then in the apartment that I fled from and the police woman has arrived. She buzzes in and I wait for her to come up. Given the amount of fear that I felt this thing I did makes sense.(driving through the door in a truck) I prepare to talk to her.

    • Hi Rachel,
This dream came to you when you were unconscious in your life, like when you were very young being abused. When you are young and abused, you have a tendency to generalize whatever fear you have to everyone and then remain unconscious about what happened. This is because at very ages people do not have strong conscious memories. They only have strong unconscious memories.

The part about your mom’s house shows that you have done a lot of work in yourself because the part that she was supposed to help you develop, which she didn’t in real life, you have now cleaned up. This allows you to be calm and moving forward.

When you dealing the chasing part you will find that you can really start chasing after the goals that have alluded you especially being able to generalize positive feelings toward all of humanity.

  6. Hello! I am 21years old. We are moving from Chennai to Bombay now. I’m actually very happy cause we used to live Bombay(since childhood) and we only moved to Chennai for 4 years on account of my dads work transfer. I also recently quit college. I’m applying for a different course now instead of the one I’m pursuing. I just had two slightly similar dreams consecutively. I just want to know if they mean anything.
My dreams are usually based on fantasy. So the first one started off as a fantasy where there were two teams there were dome fantasy elements and the two teams were competing for something. I don’t know what the competition was about. But towards the end one guy from the opposite team stabbed a guy from my team and took whatever we were competing for(I cannot remember the object or the competition very well). We all ran to help the guy from our team and the other guy got really mad! He started running around stabbing everyone! And there was total chaos. Suddenly the guy catches up to me and starts hacking my right wrist off! I can see the knife very clearly. It looks extremely dangerous with a serrated edge and all. I can see the blood poring out of my wrist and also I think some veins. There wasn’t much blood just a little pouring out from the sides! I somehow managed to escape. Then I woke up.
In the start it felt very mysterious mystical and all that. and a little tension because we absolutely had to win the competition soon because they’re was some kind of danger that was approaching. Then It turned into chaos when the guy stabbed the guy from our team.
The next night I dreamed I was at a hill station vacationing with my friends and we had a blast the first day. The second day I decided to go alone and explore the place I was going around clicking beautiful pictures on my camera! Then I reached a really busy crowded market place. I was trying to click pictures of the local kids against the backdrop of the mountains and suddenly one of the kids tries to tell me not to click pictures. He seems to not like me clicking pictures. I was confused at first so I just went about trying to click pictures and stay out of his way but he keeps coming after me and he tries to grab the camera. I think he is trying to steal the camera. So I hang on to it and that makes h really angry. I get more protective of the camera and also panic a little because suddenly I get the feeling he’s trying to kill me and has a knife. I don’t see the knife though. So I ask around for help while struggling with the boy for my camera. And two men come and help me and with their help I manage to escape!
In the beginning of this dream I was extremely happy! Couldn’t have been happier! Then the next day I was exploring the place and I love travel so I was very happy and felt like I was exactly where I wanted to be! Then suddenly it got confusing when the boy started to try and take my camera away and then I started panicking when I raised he wants to kill me.
This two dreams seem similar to me and I want to know what they mean.
    Thank you!

    • This is a response to Priya’s dream,
Hi Priya. In the first dream the big problem you have is being in competition. This probably relates to your life as a student because in countries where the opportunities are limited, there tends to be a lot of competition for spaces and opportunities which turn people to doing negative things to each other like what was happening to you metaphorically in the dream. It really has to do with people who have the power not wanting to open up more choices and possibilities because they are fearful of losing control and power over people. Really the solution to the dream is to find places in your life where you can cooperate with others because that is a truly spiritual condition that your soul wants to get to. Cooperation is the way of the future.

In the second dream the virtue you are showing is a beauty seeing eye which means that you see the positive in things. The reason the boys wants to take away your inner beauty seeing camera is that he represents people in authority or power. They act really childish and try to keep people from seeing beauty because once you have a beauty seeing eye, you cannot be controlled. It is a big threat to authority figures, but they have a hard time stopping it because once you have it, you can never go back to the old ways of control and criticism.

Have you thought of taking a course to be a therapist of some kind?

  7. can only remember a little from two of them. A little backround first! The dream is about a ex that I dated from 13-19 off and on (currently 24) some of the time was long distance. Jump forward about 3 years ago he started dating this girl a bit younger then him and now they have 2 kids, I started dating a guy a bit older than me and now I have my first.
The first dream I can kind of remember was weird I went to a apartment building or hotel/motel some kind of building knowing he was there I walked around this dark building with a little light from a television for a bit then finally ran into someone and asked where ex was staying and the guy responded “over there with his family ” so I left. That is all I remember from that one I am sure there is more that I do not recall
Last night another weird dream me and current boyfriend went for dinner the restaurant was open space kind of like the previous dream, out of nowhere I seen ex for a glimpse then a little girl ran by me and looked like she needed help with something so I picked her up helped her then her mom exes current girlfriend came up thanked me and grabbed her. I don’t remember a lot but at one point me and ex were talking and current girlfriend did not mind. A bunch happend I can not remember then the next thing I know his girlfriend and my boyfriend are having a conversation sitting close to each other and me and ex are talking away?.

Another recurring dream I am having is something crazy happens and I have to find a small safe spot to hide. The dream is never me sitting in the spot but looking for it and I always seem to find a riding spot. During the dream with my ex I started another one where me and my family were at abother open restaurant and a guy taking photos confirmed us that the government let lose a bunch of robots that are identical to humans or animals that everyone had to fight off so I went and found a hiding place for us in a area with lots of locked doors but ended up running around with everyone else.
Then a dream I was in new york with father at a restaurant terrorist blocked road off I ran up stairs a guy was sitting at a table and pointed under neath it suggesting I hid under there.

    • This is a response to Sundshine’s dream,
      Hi Sunshine,
The fact that you are in a motel in the dream means that the part of yourself that is trying to be developed in the dream is the part of you that is comfortable being in other places rather than ones you are familiar with. The reason that your ex boyfriend is there is probably because he has that kind of comfort, but you don’t so much. He is there to learn how to have that quality inside of yourself by studying him. It doesn’t have anything to do with having a relationship with him, only with you developing that quality. The New York part brings up the fear that you have as does the part where you have to hide. So the work is to get over the fear of going to new places, both outwardly and inwardly, then you will be much more comfortable wherever you are.

  8. Dear Inna, The positive thing you have in the dream is that you are so competent behind the wheel of the 4X4, This means that you are capable of doing things on your own with a lot independence and strength.

The negative thing is that you believe that marriage is only about love. There is a huge part of marriage that is about love. You obviously love your partner and want to be with him even when you are with someone else. The problem is that at least half of the marriage equation is about character and it is obvious that your partner has some big character flaws that would easily destroy your marriage in a short time.

The hard part about love is that it often makes you lose your common sense and rational ability. That is why it is good to not jump into bed right away with others.

The best thing to do is to separate from him, get on with your life, and eventually find a new partner. It is going to be extremely difficult because of your emotional attachment, but is either go through the pain now or go through a bigger pain later.

Sorry to be the bearer of this kind of news but I have just worked with so many women in your shoes. Time to leave the relationship.

  9. Good morning Richard, I had this dream last night that really bothered me. My partner and I are currently in a rough time. I caught him cheating, again, and we’re not really able to talk about it properly as he thinks it’s in the past already and shouldnt be talked about since he already said he’s sorry. I’ve been an emotional wreck during the past few weeks. My emotions are all over the place, it starts with anger, depression, hurt, missing him and actually begging him to stop. We said we would fix things and issues by the time he gets back from vacation.

(I’ll refer to the new partner in my dream as P2, while my current partner in the waking day as P1)

Last night I had a dream wherein I was with another man, P2. But it doesnt say in my dream P1 and I broke up in my dream. P2 and I checked in a hotel in an unfamiliar place, but when I was with him, I could feel that I still love and miss P1 so much and I knew that I was wishing in my dream that I get back with him. While P2 and I were in the lobby, I saw P1 and his brother. I tried to approach them but P2 looks like he doesnt want to talk to me and I can hear his brother (who loves me in real life) say that he hates me and that he doesnt want me to get back with P1. I was hurt when they left and just like that, P2 vanishes, I dont know where he went, and I never saw him in my dream again. It then rained and I ran around the hotel, got soaked in rain to look for P1. When I finally saw him again, I hugged him and begged him to stay with me and be together again, but his brother told him not to, but P1 fought with his brother and told me that he still loves me and still wants to be with me. Then there is a gap. The next thing I know we’re in a forrest with a stream. We were in a 4×4 truck, I was driving, and I could feel that I was nervous yet amazed because I already forgot how to drive a manual but during that time, i was actually good at it. P1 and I drove through the stream and then as we were passing through it, I realized that we were gonna drive through a really deep part and that the whole truck would be submerged in water. I got so scared so i tried to manoeuvre the truck away from the deep part, and it was successful. But as we drive, a cliff suddenly appears and we fall into the falls. The next thing I see is that the truck is missing but P1 and I are together and asks me if I’m okay.

And then I woke up. I got really disturbed by why I have a new boyfriend in my dream, and frankly I got so scared because I really want things to work out with P1 since we are planning on marriage already.

Oh if it helps, P2 and P1 are very different in terms of appearance. The only similar thing is that they are both tall. Also, I wasn’t able to have a glimpse of P2’s face so I dont know what he looks like.

Thank you for your help, Richard!

  10. This is my dream. I saw it was morning and I was walking in the park. Suddenly, I came across the best friend of my crush. I didn’t talk to her, because in real life we don’t talk to each other. She called my name and when I approached her, she told me “I have great news about (my crush’s name). Then, I wake up without learning the news. I’m really upset. I would really appreciate your help.

    • This is a response to Edward’s dream,
In this dream you should be angry at yourself for not approaching her or your crush more directly. Your relationship will not get anywhere when you are in a hesitant mode. Whatever you want to go for in life is easier to get to when you go to it more directly. So then the question for you becomes one of overcoming your hesitation which is usually about the fear of being rejected. The dream says the doors are open for you whether it be in the area of relationships or other parts of your life. Just need to go for it more.

  11. Hello there! Yesterday, I saw in my dream that I was walking down the street and suddenly I saw a friend of my sister. She was leaving a building and when I saw her I told her “Hello.” and she smiled back saying “Hi!”. We have never talked in real life, but as my sister told me today she asked questions about me. By the way, it is said she has a boyfriend.

    • This is about Jack’s dream,
So the friend of your sister has a particular quality about her that your spirit is attracted to. You don’t have to be her boyfriend to get into a relationship with her and start learning about the thing you admire about her. Then you can start developing that in yourself. It will make a big huge difference in your life if you develop this part of your character.

    • This is a response to Connie’s dream.
Seeing a picture of your granddaughter means that the dream world wants you to think about her so that you can spend time with her and help her grow. Not sure about the number 8. It could be significant to her somehow.

  12. I appreciate your immediate response. Is there any reason why I dreamt of the raven alone the night afterward?

    • This is a response to J’s question. The raven is the animal that will get you all of the results by looking at your faulty thinking. That is why it is alone. Once you know the quality you need, independent thinking, then you need to work on the faulty thinking which is why the raven is there.

  13. Hi J, You should be concerned about the white cat. The white cat means that the quality you need is independence like in independent thinking, having your own mind, etc.. The raven is there on the skull to take away your old thinking patterns. You can work with this dream by going back into it and asking the raven where you are going wrong in your thinking.

It is my practice to never think of animal symbols as good omens or bad omens. They are all just messengers. Ravens may not give you the message you want to hear, but it appears in this case when you ignore the cat inside of you.

  14. This is my dream.

There was a white cat…but that section of the dream I’m not too concerned with. I also saw a raven (I knew it wasn’t exactly a crow since somebody said the word “raven”) accommodating itself on a skull. They say ravens are unlucky omens, but I considered the bird to be large, majestic and graceful looking. Not frightening. However, I DO know the skull may symbolize death/rebirth. And I could have SWORN I dreamt of a raven again last night.

    Much help appreciated.

  15. I’m having this dream of the same guy. We had a fall out and I haven’t spoken with him for 3 months. I had liked him a lot and even was truthful of my feelings towards him. He didn’t feel the same. All he said “I’m flattered that you like me”. I haven’t seen him around for 3 months and I’ve been getting these weird dreams of him. What does this mean?

    • This is a response to Annie’s Dream,
Hi Annie, When you have relational dreams especially after a break up, it means that the person you had a relationship with has a special quality in his character that you are attracted to and need to have in your own self to make your life work. What you need to do is ask yourself what you admire about him. (not physically, but his positive qualities). Then you can begin to develop that ability in yourself. It usually takes some time to develop it so expect some hard internal work.

    • Being in your grandmother’s bedroom means that there is a part of you that is inherited from grandmother that when you develop it, you will be able to really relax about yourself. You will really feel more like yourself. You should ask yourself what you admire about her the most and then develop it.

  16. I once dream, myself going to the traditional healer, arriving there, 2 big birds as eagles came flying around my head, one hit me on the head, with its tooth. Then the sangoma said i must go and wait in the forest, as my problem needs to be treated in forest, i went there, later there comes the sangoma, where i waited in forest, jst near the flowing river,he instructed some one to take a bath, after him, the sangoma asked me,if i do have a razor, i said no, he said, how can he treat me, without a razor?? I searched myself in the pockets of my trousers &found a rusty razor with broken corners, i was afraid to give him, that razor

    • This is for Freedom,
The healing in the dream is from being like the eagles, not going into the forest like the sangoma said. The eagle is the symbol for having a lot of vision and perspective which is what you don’t have. Forest is a dense place. This is not what you need because you cannot see the forest because of the trees. It means that when you are having a great deal of difficulty making a decision or getting direction you need to get up to a high place like where eagle’s reside then you will get your answers. Trust that the sangoma is wrong.

  17. Hi i just had 3 dreams in one and they felt so real. I felt awake but weak. I would try to scream for help but my voice was so quiet and during all this process i know i was half awake because i was kinda like having a seisure.. Anyways My first dream was that there was a girl i know, not very close to me, she was laying beside me in my bed but we were acting like best friends laughing and all and her boyfriend appeared and he was jumpling on top me of but something told me not to look at him and my friend was laughing taking it as a joke saying yeah dont look at him, but i still didnt look at him and he was trying to get me to because apparently he was wearing makeup. He ended up disapearing but my friend was somehow still beside me and turns out he had hid under my blankets. He was grabbing my legs and carressing them while he was under the blankets and i woke up and he was gone everything was. Not even a minute later I went back to sleep and i felt him there again but this time his tried reaching toward me by extending his arm but he had red nails an kinda pointy so my forst instinct was to bite one of the fingers. I then woke up and went back to sleep and saw someone ontop on me where my legs were trying to pull me, someone like a doll. And they were laughing and yelling. This is whereni would yell and i could swear i was yelling as hard as i could and i didnt, this is also where i started noticing i was actually shaking and my body was bounce which what had woke me up. as soon as i woke ip the third time i ran to the lights and my skin was red and heart was pounding.. What does this mean richard?

    • This is a response to Jesse dream,
Jesse, This dream is about having the fear of being social with a boy and not being able to say no when he gets physical in inappropriate ways. The dream is easily stopped by telling him no or you leaving the bed, but something keeps in the bed having him repeatedly do things you don’t want done.
You probably have this idea that if you say no to advances of boys, that you will not be able to have a social life, but really the opposite is true. When you are clear about your boundaries, then people relax and can have a great time together.
