  1. Dear Richard,
Two nights ago I’ve dreamed about me being saved by an unfamiliar yet familiar boy (strange wasn’t it? I was sure that I haven’t met him before, but at the end I felt familiar and safe with his company, even though I didn’t want to admit it). And i must say, that was such a bizzare dream.

So, my dream took place at the dutch east indies. In that dream, I was around 12 years old, wearing a pastel cream shirt dress. I questioned and looked to my self, ‘why am I wearing such attire??’ (i am a tomboy and finding out that i wore a dress…well it’s just strange and I just can’t believe it myself!). And I was chased out because I was a mix oriental race(in colonial time in Indonesia, there was a class system in society. From highest: European, non native, and native).

And then when I was standing outside an old bookshop, there was some people looking at me with bad intentions. To deter them away, I fake coughing so they will think that I have a contagious disease. Because I still felt unsafe, I went inside the bookstore. Unfortunately, the people inside the book store seemed threatening too.

Suddenly, there was a boy wore white dress shirt around my age approaching me. Even though I didn’t know him, he was too friendly and seemed to know me(an that also make me afraid of him and don’t want to do any business with him). The men with bad intentions went away when he showed up. The boy said that he and I should stick together. And I said to him that I don’t care and why should I. He answered me and pointed out:”Look, the society won’t accept us, we are being chased out, you are a mix race, I am a dutch” (sorry for you guys who feels offended about the racial issues here. But the race issues in the colonial time did happen, and that also happened in my dream). I wanted to snapped back about what he pointed about, but I couldn’t. I lost my words! I tried to glare at him, and he knew that I don’t trust him and being skeptical. Then I tried to run away from him, but he took my hand. I faked a cough again and said that I have a very deadly disease. He said with a small smile that it will be okay and he will take care of me. Feeling a creepy and embarrassing feelings on my guts, I broke free of his grip and then ran out of the bookstore.

Then I was chased again by the ill willed men outside. They caught up to me and cut off my hand(what i found strange is, I didn’t feel hurts and it just like part of your body was detached and your limb was laying on the floor). The boy appeared again next to me and using some advance device, he reattached my hand back to normal. After he saved me, I tried running away again but couldn’t cause he took a strong grip on my hand and make sure that I couldn’t break free.

We went back inside the bookstore. He picked up one of the book from the shelves near the entrance and said something to me that made me feel embarrassed and in denial. I couldn’t remember what he said next, because I woke up right after that.

Thank you! I hope you can help me to interpret my dream!

    Olin

    • This is a response to Olin’s dream,
Hi Olin, The purpose of the this dream is to awaken the feminine beautiful qualities that you have in you that you see by wearing the dress. The boy in the dream can really be seen as your masculine energy which you took on at an early age to protect yourself from the negative effects of racism. The dream wants you to identify with the positive feminine qualities which would be like love and compassion and empathy. The boy lets you know that you are protected even from negative things like losing your job or skills as a result of the racism. When you awaken the feminine and identify with the qualities, you will find that you have a great deal of power in overcoming the racism. It still exists. Your nature is more compassionate than you probably can imagine.

  2. Dear Richard,
I dreamed that I had to go to the bathroom really bad and it woke me up out of my sleep. When I got up an went when I pulled down my panties there were little black thing in my panties. I picking them off But could not they were not worms they looked like black heads. Then I woke myself up because it felt real, but it was a dream.

    • This is a response to Lady Kay’s dream,
Hi, When you have a bathroom dream like yours, you can think right away that you are trying to let go of something negative inside so that the positive can come out. The things you are letting go of are the things represented in the blackheads. Blackheads are representative of blemishes. If you let go of focus on the blemishes, then you will be able to see your true inner beauty that will absolutely astound you.

  3. This night I had a dream about my crush. I was walking behind two guys. They were wearing a jacket and I think it was autumn. I looked to the right and saw a river. The water was clear and I could see a sunlight reflection on it. But the sky was dull. Then I saw a metal bridge in the distance. I think it was above the river, on a hill. And I remember several trees were around it.
I looked at one of the guys. I didn’t know who was it until he suddenly turned his head and smiled. I realised it was my crush. He was not looking at me though. He was looking somewhere behind me. Like I wasn’t there. Then the scenery changed a bit. There were direction signs and the ground we were standing on was a stone pavement. He then walked up to some girl. I was a bit disappointed. I was sure it was his girlfriend (in the dream – I’ve never seen that girl before). I didn’t see her face but her hair caught my eye. It was brown, shiny and rather long. The colour was similar to mine. And she was shorter than me. But I haven’t seen her face. He came up to her and suddenly, we were at our school. He then hugged her or something, I can’t remember this part very much. He walked away (beacuse he needed to go to his class) and I looked at the girl. I saw a little bit of her face for a while. And then I realised I was present as an observer not a regular person. The girl didn’t know I was here even though I was standing next to her. Then I asked myself: “And isn’t this girl me?” And then I woke up.
Can you please tell me what does it mean? I’ve developed a crush on him just few days ago but I feel something different this time. It”s like my intuition keeps telling me that in fact he has fallen for me before I did so and he somehow affected the way I feel about him. Unconsciously on a higher level. Because it was not a “crush-on-first-sight”. I’ve had this feeling he maybe has a crush on me and few weeks after this feeling appeared I ended up falling for him myself. The question is: Is this dream trying to show me my intuition is right or am I holding onto a false hope?

    • This is a response to Jin-ai’s comment,
Hi Jin-ai, You obviously have a lot of hope that the crush will be attracted to you the way you are attracted to him, but when you see him, you believe he is with another girl. As the dream draws to a close you ask if the girl in the dream is you? This is because, despite the crush, you cannot fully see yourself with him. When you can visualize yourself with him clearly and have little or no fear, then it will be easy to approach and start a relationship. The other girl not being you means that you have some fear about it.

  4. i had a dream that i was younger and so was my brother and it was halloween and she took us to this store full of crazy adults but she didnt realizs they were gonna dress so scary and she said sorry guys while my brother and i held each others hands and squeezed our eyes tight and then she brought us deep into the store and ran away and left us there and my current boyfriend showed up and he was his actual age and i told him to take joey(my little brother) while i ran screaming wheres my mom while in tears and this lady tried to comfort me but the store was like a maze and i couldnt find her anywhere and then i woke up

    • This is a response to Bri’s dream,
Hi Bri, This dream is about the kind of state your mind goes in when you have fears. The dream says that your mind starts imagining scary things which makes you feel small like a child who can’t find her mother. It may have something to do with your mom not being around when you needed her as a child. The solution to the dream is learn how to quiet the mind in you that imagines in a negative fashion so that you can see a situation for what it really is. Then you can make yourself much bigger to whatever you are doing instead of the opposite. It is about being big or really confident to where you are going and what you are doing.

  5. I’m a strong believer that dreams have meanings to them and my boyfriend had a dream last night about him and I. We was standing in the mirror I was facing him he was facing the mirror. He has tattoos all over his arms and his upper chest. I have none but in the dream his tattooes where gone and I had tattoos all over my back. What could this mean ??

    • This is a response to Tori’s dream,
Hi Tori, This dream tells you that when you try to be like another person as if you were their mirror image, then you become just like them. You are trying to be like boyfriend and since he has tattoos it is as if you have them also. There are times when you should be alike and then there are times when you should be different. Being alike helps you to have rapport and closeness to someone else as well as understanding. At other times like when you are working in the world or giving your own opinions, you need to be separate from him or different.

  6. After a successful journey by train in the company of my cousin, on arrival my cousin informs me that a key to our house was taken by another cousin. So I then started to fiqure out how can I contact my other cousin to give us the key. I also questioned the cousin I was with why he gave our house key to that other cousin.

    • This is a response to Langa Carter’s dream,
Hi Langa, The key to your house is the key to your self. The key to your self is the same as your cousins. There is an inner key, like a spiritual key, that unlocks yourself. It is the same spiritual key that will unlock the self of your cousins. It doesn’t matter who has the key. I am not sure what the key, but it would be a good idea to get together with your cousins and start exploring what you all need to open up inside of yourselves. Then you could support each other. You could also go in and meditate on what it will take.

  7. Dear Richard,
Please help, my Dad died 2 years ago and is a massive loss to me since then there has been a lot of family fall out’s. I dreamt last night that I was standing in my parents kitchen and my dad came through he went into the dishwasher and got a glass to pour himself a drink. I was there with me sister and mother. I felt so excited I rushed over to him, he didn’t look completely alive, I asked if I could have a cuddle and he said no. He was acting quite normal. I was so excited. He then went through to the living room and sat down on his chair. I then ran to my car to get my phone when I came back my mother was in the bath and my dad was gone. Please help me understand what this dream means.
    Thank you

    • This is a response to Isabella’s dream,
The difficulty that you are having is being shown to you in the dream. You are wanting to have your father’s affection and attention, but it is not forthcoming in the dream even though you are excited that he is there. What he did for the family is now being passed on to you. You are now supposed to be the glue that binds the family together. The problem is that you are longing for his affection and cannot find the positive feelings inside of yourself that he would have given you. Whatever love and positive things he had in him you also have in you and now it is up to you to show it to others. You need to believe in yourself and believe that you can be how he was with you only your job is to be that way for others. It is like he had his time here and now he has passed what needs to be done onto you.

  8. I had a vivid dream. Can you interpret a dream? It was a really tall tall pine tree so tall it was disappearing up into sky. I was sheltering under a building right under it watching the following: Very strong winds were blowing and branches from the top down came crashing down bit at a time. Heavy large and thick branches. As they got closer to me the wind was so strong that the branch would be blow over to the left of me a distance of 30m or so before it crashed on me. Previous to this event I had been in a long truck with my husband driving erratically amongst the buildings with us trying to get away from something…

    • This is a response to Sue’s dream,
The tree is a symbol of the growth of your true self. The strong winds are like the negative things that happen in the world. The way to actually think about this dream is to imagine that you are the tree itself rather than being near it. When you are the tree, it means that you are in a continually big growth process rather than being harmed by the effects of the storms around you. A strong tree endures a storm with only a few branches falling. It then just grows more. That is how you need to live your life. Just think about growing and changing all the time. The problem that keeps you from this process in the dream also is your husband’s erratic driving trying to get away from something. You need to not let him drive your life because it is too erratic in difficulties. Instead you need to be a strong tree rooted strongly in the ground so that you can keep growing.

  9. I just had the most horrible dream. I dreamt that I got up to go pee and there were voices coming from downstairs so I woke my husband rich up to go to the bathroom with me because I was scared of the people. He comes with me and then we sit on the couch and suddenly he has me pinned and he has his finger in my ear and he’s pushing pushing pushing and I panic and start to scream. So he puts his hand over my mouth and pushes harder and harder. I realize he is trying to get my brain so I bite his hand. Nothing. So I bite harder and harder. Hard as I can and I feel my mouth fill with blood but I can’t stop because he’s not stopping. I see that he’s screaming but I can’t hear it because he has his finger in my ear. Rich wakes me up because I am screaming and sobbing in my sleep. My pillow and pyjamas are literally drenched with tears. It’s like i can taste the blood in my mouth. I am so freaked out. I couldn’t wake myself up. It was like he was a demon then I was a demon trying to stop him.

What does this mean? Please help me.

    • This is a response to Dyanna’s dream,
Hi Dyanna, Basically the structure of the dream is that you believe that your husband is going to be a helper for you, but he actually turns out to be a villain. What this means is that you have something that you would like to work on internally, something you would like to get rid of that bothers you and you are fearful of, but he is not the right one to help you through it because he will just try to stop your brain from working. If you do the dream again in your mind without waking up your husband, but just letting him sleep, then that is what you are facing. It is as if there are intruders into your house. That is the metaphor. It means that the issue you are facing has something to do with when others intruded into your life in a negative way. It seems to me that you can get help to face the fear, but not from your husband because he will just try to shut your brain off which is the wrong method.

  10. Dear Richard

I dreamt of two elderly women who were together and one of them rubbed a sliced potato on the sole of my feet and then both of them went away in my dream i ran after them but couldnt find them one of the women was my mother in law

    • This is a response to KS dream,
Hi KS, I cannot tell exactly from what you have written how negative this was for you. Running after them but not being able to find them means that you want to be able to relate them, but you cannot because they disappear. Them disappearing means that you cannot relate to them because in real life, their positive selves have disappeared. Rubbing a potato on the sole of your foot means that they just want you to walk in a conservative, rather than a more innovative way of living.

  11. Hello…. I just had the weirdest dream. Me and my fiance joined a few friends in a random outing when for some random reason we all (the group) split up into 2 groups (one for movies, and one for softball ). I WENT WITH THE movie friends….and he went with the softball friends. I later went over across the field to check on him and my friend told me he left…. I was confused but still enjoyed as nice group outing at a restaurant without him. I am worried that this signifies a breakup.

    • This is a response to Mimi’s dream,
Hi Mimi, When you have a positive dream, it signifies positive not negative outcomes. Splitting up and doing different things just means that you are two different people who are in love with each other and are going to get married. There are times when being together is all you will want, but you also have separate lives where you do other things. Both are good. It is good for him to have his friends and you to have yours. Then there isn’t pressure on the relationship all the time to be everything.

  12. Hi Richard
I saw a dream in the morning time, it was a 10 minute sleep. In the dream i was on a road in the mountains with an old man i dont know. We were talking and it must be post midnight. Then suddenly he vanished. I felt afraid, not because he was lost but because now i was alone in the darkness. Suddenly a big white soft furred dog who had a dog strap on came. I got scared as he touched me, but then i touched his fur and it was soft. Then the dream ended.

    • This is a response to Harsh’s dream,
Hi Harsh, A road in the mountains signifies that you are on a path right now that has a lot of challenges to it. This is really good. The old man is like a companion that allows you to proceed even in the darkness. When he goes, it is like your own negative mind takes over and starts imagining negative thoughts. It was ok as long as he was there, but in his absence you are overcome with fear. A dog is a symbol of friendliness, but its negative side is aggression. So when you are in a state of fear you think the dog is going to harm you, but really he represents your inner friend. An inner friend means how you get friendly with your own self. It is a bit different to think about being friendly to yourself, but it is something like instead of having fearful voices in your head when you meet challenges, to have positive and encouraging ones who accompany you. Most people have the tendency to have negative voices take over. It is only natural. Your effort now is to have an inner friend like the dog in the dream. It manifests itself in positive voices in your mind. Then you can take on any challenge and it will be like everything lights up.

  13. I had a dream last night where all i saw all my enemies… Amongst them were one of my sisters who I havent been speaking with for a couple years…. At one point one of my enemies who i actually were friends with for quite a number of years smiled n me n were pleasent…. Another were angry n anoyed … Another came close to me and said or asked something i really cant remember ….. At another point my sister hit my son a couple times n he came n told me… I rushed over n started beating her…. I was so upset that she raised her hands for my little son….. Plz tell me what this means…. Thank u

    • This is a response to Naomi’s dream,
Hi Naomi, The purpose of the dream is for you to change how you make friends into enemies when you get angry at what someone does to you or others to making enemies to become friends. It seems like you have a fair amount of work to do in this area. The problem you have is probably believing that you are so right to get angry at others and attack them for the bad things they do. The difficulty in attacking others is that you lose a lot of friends. You seem to have become good at making enemies according to the dream. To make friends from enemies requires that you let to go of the hurt and anger that they have caused, to see their positive side and relate to it all the time. The virtue that will help turn enemies into friends is forgiveness. It is the quality that the dream seems to be calling out in you.

  14. Dear Richard,

I have a dream last night. I just remember that my favorite black bag when I opened it, I saw cockcroach crawling in my bag. From a baby cockcroach, it multiplied into 2 and the other cockcroach was bigger. I want to kill them but I was so scared to do it because they’re multiplying.

After that another scenario of my dream. I was with my friends in a big bus and we went to tour around and suddenly we received a call asking about our whereabouts. When we got to the house my mom said that we should all leave. Then I insisted to see her. When I saw her, I realized that I am taking care of a little princess and my mom was talking to her about what I am doing. Thank you for helping me with this.

    • This is a response to Maya’s dream,
Hi Maya, A cockroach is a symbol of something that is bugging you probably about yourself. When you focus on the thing that bugs you about yourself, then it just gets bigger and you see more things that bother you about yourself which makes you frightened.

The second part of the dream explains the first. It is like your mom treats people like they have to be little princesses who are on show. Nothing can go wrong with them. To solve the dream you can start looking at things that are small and positive and then blow them up so that they are wonderful. When you do this, the negative things won’t bother you anymore because you will be so focused on the positive.

  15. My friend recently moved house in real life and I’ve seen it but in the dream we go to his new house and it’s nothing like the real thing it’s an apartment and he lives with his grandmother who says “we’re only staying here for 19 months” this house is in an unfamiliar location where it’s very sunny and I’m dressed in a shirt and underpants while he is dressed in white and we go to his house for a while and chat then suddenly I’m in a dress in an abandoned fast food restaurant in the kitchen with a bunch of strangers and they say they have powers that can see two dead bodies in the sink and they’re all freaking out and I can’t see the bodies but I know what they’re wearing (jeans, vest and a jacket) they won’t let me near the sink and I’m not allowed outside so I have to hide behind a magazine rack by the door till there’s nobody outside then I can run but I don’t know where too, then I woke up because I was scared!

    • This is a response to Leah’s dream,
Hi Leah, A house in a dream is different than a real life house. A dream house is a symbol of one’s self. The self you are with in the dream is your friend’s self when he is his grandmother’s qualities (he is acting out of his inherited self from his grandmother’s side). It shows you that you are vulnerable and see a bunch of negative things.
The reason you have the dream is because you are affected by that self when you are around him. What you need to know is that your really strong true self is asking you to do some work right now so that you won’t be so vulnerable. This comes from knowing what your strong qualities are and then acting from them.

  16. My nana and auntie passed away this year I had a dream the strangest dream that felt so real my nana was on a stretcher at the bottom of the stairs, she wasn’t alive and had fallen off I ran to her and held her in my arms kissed her cheek and cried the next thing I remember about my dream was my auntie in the front room I hugged her and asked her to look after my nana. Any ideas what this dream meant? It felt so real

    • This is a response to Nicola’s dream,
Hi Nicola, The problem that you have in the dream is that you are worried about your nana now that you have lost her to the next world. What you should know is that in the next world your nana is well looked after and is living a beautiful life. You can even ask her for help from time to time along with your auntie. Then you can get on with the beautiful life you are meant to live her. It is so waiting for you to live and be fully into.

  17. Hi I’m 33 weeks pregnant and last night I had a dream that I was in a shop buying a cartoon of eggs and I dropped one out of the cartoon and it broke on the floor, what do you think this means? I’m a bit worried as thought eggs were a sign of fertility.thanks in advance xx

    • This is a response to Michelle Hill’s dream,
Hi Michelle, This dream really talks about the metaphor in your mind about the person you have in your body right now. It is like you have some part of yourself that believes you shop for a baby like you shop for eggs so you have to careful that the eggs don’t break. Think about having a baby as a gift from God and that you have been given this precious gift to nurture and develop. It is not a material being as much as it is a spiritual being having a material experience.

  18. Hi Richard ! I had a dream and can’t really find a meaning so I hope you can help ! I had a dream about me in a car with people but I knew who they were but I forgot . I think one was my boyfriend . Maybe the other one my father . But I think there’s a good chance my boyfriend was in the car ! ..Anyway lol I was sitting in the middle and I think it was maybe at a robot when we stopped and a guy who looked like an eastern religion believer had a bomb in his hand that looked like a rocket . He looked directly at us & threw the bomb right at me in the middle . We ducked & I ducked side ways to protect myself but my neck for some reason as well . But the duck didn’t help because the bomb hit me in my neck and I started to feel weird like I was numb or going numb but I didn’t die ! The bomb didn’t kill me . I wonder if this has anything to do with when me & my boyfriend went to get chinese and there was what looked like a muslim guy on the sidewalk when we stopped at the robot & he looked at us well it seemed like he was looking at me & he came to my boyfriends window but my boyfriend ignored him and his window was closed . Maybe a beggar but I’ve never seen a beggar dressed in muslim like clothing . Thank you Richard . Hope you can help! Regards. Madelein*

    • This is a response to Madelein’s dream,
The best way to deal with this dream is to think about the situation in the world right now. If you turn on your news and see what is happening, there are incidents of terrorism from people who say they are Muslim. The more you watch TV the more you believe that something like that is going to happen to you like what happened in Paris. The fear gradually grows and then you become terrorized inside which is exactly what they are hoping will happen to you.
If you were in the middle of a forest without TV and news, you would have never had a chance to develop the fear. You would be much freer and less fearful. The fear comes from the TV not your real life experience. It is much more likely that something bad is going to happen from boyfriend or father than from a terrorist. With that in mind you can do exactly the opposite of the TV news. You can put in your mind the most positive things you can think of in your mind and then you will be so attracted to it that you will want to go for it. Turn off the TV, stop reading the newspaper and practice entertaining yourself with a really hugely positive future.

  19. what is the meaning of a dream with a white man among black men watching football on tv with worms climbing the white man body as he tries to remove them one by one with his hands

    • This is a response to Diamond Bob,
The context of the dream is a white man among black men watching football on TV. This dream talks about the problem white people have in general when being black men. There is tendency for white people to believe that they are superiority because they dominated black people for a long time. When black men start to become equal or better like in football, then the white man feels like the black men are worming their way into the white man’s superior world. What is needed is to get out of the passive nature of watching sport and just playing at life more as if it were an equal playing field. When you are fully involved in an activity like sport together, it is quality of the play that matters, not how someone looks.

  20. So I have had 2 dreams about this. I was at the hospital and i looked down and saw that I was pregnant. They wheeled me into a room and I began to have contractions and then I had my baby. My husband was standing there with me looking at my baby and me.

I don’t have kids or a husband. Please help!

    • This is a response to Grace’s dream,
Hi Grace, This dream wants you to look at the future in terms of possibilities. Being pregnant means that you are pregnant with possibilities in your life and having a husband means that you have to support the possibilities. Having a baby means that the possibilities are coming and you need to support and nurture it. Think about your life as full of possibilities.
